Spun Handwritten on vinyl yesterday for the first time and it sounded really good. Love the blue vinyl on 180gram.

I saw them last month in AC with Cage the Elephant and I was honestly blown away by the crowd and Fallon's performance. Really digging them now but is it just me or does anyone else get the feeling he will be going solo in a few years? I haven't been following the band that long or too closely, but he seems to be the most talented member by a longshot. The other guys just kind of stand there and didn't seem to bring anything that a backing band wouldn't be able to.

    That being said...they do rock!

You can probably say this about tons of bands. I hate the idea of going "solo". So all you really do is replace your old band with a band of people who don't seem to care that you're marketing yourself under your own name and the fact that they get little to no credit for helping you.

I don't know so much about going solo properly, but I think it's likely the Horrible Crowes project will yield another album, and maybe he'll do a solo album. That said, he had a solo myspace thing for a while (and posted a couple of things on it) but got a bit overwhelmed by the interest and got rid of it so...

They've done 4 albums and an EP in just under 6 years which is very rapid output by anyone's standards, so I wouldn't be surprised to see another album end 2013/early 2014 and then maybe a break for a couple of years.
The secret to a happy ending is knowing when to roll the credits

I dont know about the solo thing. And who knows how their process works in the studio....I doubt it is just Fallon doing everything himself. From some interviews I have read, it sounds like it's a collaborative process with the whole band.

I don't know about the whole solo thing. I see them growing as a band. In the early days of Pearl Jam ED did a lot of the lyrics. Now it is more of a band effort. I see Brian becoming one of the great front mans

True. Again, I don't really follow them too closely so they probably get along just fine...just kind of stood out to me from the concert that he was just a natural born entertainer. And that's awesome to see they are coming back so soon!

I read an article/Interview recently on them in Oz Rolling Stone and Brian has said he has ambitions for the band to be one of the great American bands of all time.. This doesn't sound like someone who wants a solo career. Of course things can change, but I believe he loves The Gaslight Anthem and anything else he does will just be side projects (Horrible Crowes - Awesome album too) or maybe a solo project in a break, ala EV Uke songs.

I love this band and with the strength of Handwritten, I think they are on the right path for a brilliant, long career,
I'll ride the wave where it takes me

Although they still need to make the presale for the fan club accessible to only fan club members the presale today went really smooth.

Got tix to both NYC shows.

I know the demand isn't the same but the capacity of the venues isn't either and the site didn't slow down once.
