Constructive Criticism for the Ten Club

See, that I don't understand. Why should the locals have the 1st pick? Pearl Jam doesn't stop in every country in Europe, so why should the ones who are lucky enough to have them in their country/city have the 1st pick before people who didn't have a chanse to see Pearl Jam in their own country? Aren't those people who travel for hours, even days to get there just as dedicated fans as the others? I just think we "deserve" to get just as good seats as the people in that country, or at least a chanse to get just as good seats0 -
come on guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what is this complaining all about??? why people always have to complain about something??? why you cant just appreciate that you can join the fan club if you choose to (for not a terrific amount of money you get newsletter, holiday single and possible other opportunities), and we shall be happy that they do early entry, which means they do try to provide something special for the fans!!! obviously they cannot please everybody, but they really bloody do try!!!!stood at the top of the hill over my town i was found. finding myself used to be hard but now i see the light. this is music.0

In a perfect situation every country has at least one Pearl Jam concert. But it is a bit sour that people were unable to get Ten Club tickets in their own country. I mean: with around 300 10C tickets per concert you've got all people in one country covered, on average. With the worldwide competition chances are smaller. Pure logic. People who don't travel may think it's unfair to not have a guarantee for a Ten Club ticket, and I can relate to that to some extend. It feels a bit strange to see other people in the fanclub line while you have 'normal' tickets.
I happen to like the international character of the Ten Club lines; that's something to sherish, good for world peace in the long term(apart from the few people fighting to get in front
)

yes, in a perfect world pearl jam would tour around the whole world every year
bBut as long as that won't happen; why punish the ones who actually spends a lot of time, money and effort on getting to the concerts because it isn't in their country? If anything, they've probably worked a lot more to get to the concert than the "locals". I completly understand where you're coming from though, I just find it a bit unfair as long as people travel to other countries when Pearl Jam doesn't play in their own
All in all, I like the system they had this tour. 10c tickets and then those who get there early enough can get into the front area, worked fine in Berlin at least..0 -
I think the one thing that needs to change is that Europeans should have the first chance for Euro tickets. Let US 10C members have a chance to buy tickets for the Euro shows after a period of time that allows Euro members a chance to get tickets. After all we do pay more for our memberships and they play here so rarely. Plus from much of what I've seen, US members bought up tickets on the chance they'd be able to make it over. Many transfer offers or extra tickets came from US members who either couldn't make the trip themselves or who had a friend who couldn't. This is nothing against the US members who did come over. I met some great fans, but there was definitely a flip side to that and I was really amazed how somehow all the US members managed to get 10C tickets to shows that myself and other Euro fans found impossible. My Pearl Jam Photos

That's like saying "let the people who live in the state that the concert is in have first dibs", and I sorta agree. But it should be limited to having priority to only one show, the rest is a crap shoot. Although, I prefer past years when all 10C memebers who wanted to purchase tix could...after all it is the majority of their fan base.......Cheers,

Don't forget that most shows had only 150 pairs of tickets and some had 100 (from what I've heard). In the US, I know that fan club seats had been limited to 10% of the venue capacity- which is a hell of a lot more than 300 tickets. I disagree about the state issue because they don't hit all the states. I'm saying that at the least the continent should get priority- the same would go for South America and Australia. There's a difference between driving a few hours to another state or even a 2-3 hour flight compared to crossing oceans. That's cool if you're actually going to do that, but I think the continents' fans should have first dibs, especially when there are so few tickets available in the first place. My Pearl Jam Photos

With the offset in the # of fans in the states/ticket, to the number of fans in other countries/ticket, I don't think it was too different. If it makes you feel any better, Dublin was the only show I got `10C tix for, I was shut out on all of the US shows I attended.....Cheers,

Do you really think there were all that many Americans (from the US, not living in Europe) that made it across? It seemed to me that most 10C transfers were 'european to european'...
We go to the US for their shows (not that I have but I know loads who have in the past....)0 -

We go to the US for their shows (not that I have but I know loads who have in the past....)I'm sure there were more but they weren't exactly taking over.
This brings me back to the fiasco we had when the Dublin tickets sold out initially with people joining the board simply to give out about all the foreigners taking our tickets... (not to mention our land, our jobs and our women  ). I don't think there's much that 10c can do really to turn it around that won't make it messy. As it is, it's simple enough with the GA (all 10c members have the same chance to make it to the front. Maybe the seated shows should be the same - no allocated seats, just a section for 10c and first come, best seats. The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
Verona??? it's all surmountable

I have no criticism.
I much prefer assigned seating. I was excited about my first GA shows, but as some people said, it was hell. Made it through a couple songs and had to go back for life. Early entry is still great though. Much smaller line. Next time, I think I would shoot for very close side seats, and if it happens that people around me sit and are not into it, I'd go down to mid floor.
If the alternative is GA vs. no show, I'll take GA. But really, assigned seating rocks.
On precedence to Europeans/Americans. That's silly. I grew up in Milan, and that was much more of a hometown show than any show in Ohio, where I currently live. Also, why penalize the people who travel to see the band?... and the will to show I will always be better than before.0 -

I don't think the 10C can do a lot about it...
In Arnhem the early-entry thing worked really well for the simple reason that there was a front bit that only so many people could get into (10C plus the first people from the GA queue). As a result, I managed to get to the front row and was even able to boogie from the start right until the end.
Where there is just one big floor there is not a lot you can do about people behaving like idiots (i.e. pushing their elbows in your face). I agree it's horrible when you've been waiting for hours, spent more money on a ticket and then get brutalised by someone who hasn't done either of those thing.
In my opinion there are two solutions:
1. Not offering 10C tickets for shows that have one big floor... But I think not many people would vote for that option.
2. For fans to investigate what kind of venues PJ are playing and then deciding to buy 10C or non-10C tickets.Like a cloud dropping rain

I agree - but I think the band CAN do something about it (ie. requiring special sections for 10c members).
In Portugal we lasted 5 songs in the pit (yes, elbows in the face) on the first night, after waiting 7 hours to get in. Had to listen to the music formthe very back of the floor.
The second night, we bought balcony tickets and had the greatest seats. (but we certainly weren't 2nd row).
Unfortunately, there is no way to find out if there is a split floor plan or not before the show (we tried calling). We considered night 1 a learning experience for night 2."I don't want to hear any splatty tongues!"

yes ofcourse, that's not the ideal thing.. but as long as pearl jam doesn't tour the whole year around it looks like we won't be spoiled with shows in the future either.. but anyway, in theory; I agree completly!0
