I'll probably catch Ichiro's first 2 ABs. Can't wait to watch him in a Yankees uniform!

It's not a big deal for me I just never unserstood why the excception was made for him to use his first name on the back on his uniform instead of his last. I realize his last name is very popular in Japan but it's no different than SMith or Brown here. Yes...yes I do have OCD.

I like the trade. Always been one of my favorites to watch. Also responsible for one of the best games I've ever seen in person. Going to games is about randomly getting lucky with a memorable game and the one time I went to a game in Seattle in Sept. 2009, Ichiro hit a game-winning home run off Mariano Rivera.

I remember it well. A Friday or Saturday night, a shot to right field. I was pretty banged up and was watching it at my apartment.

Had the choice of either broadcast tonight. Went with the Seattle broadcast, which almost never happens. Was enjoyable. A lot of great stuff to say about Ichiro.

Got off to an awesome start. We can't expect too much out of him but I do think it was a good move considering all they gave up was Mitchell.

Yeah, he definitely is. They handled tonight very well.

Also went and browsed some of the comments at USS Mariner, one of the best team centric baseball sites out there (Dave Cameron from USS Mariner and Fangraphs is beating cancer and is one of my favorite writers), but all the fans were saying as crazy as it sounds they will be rooting for the Yanks here on out hoping Ichiro gets a ring.

He means a ton to them, in a way he's kind of the link between the Griffey, Rodriguez years to his own era. It's actually hard to believe that they've only had five winning years with him there and three were at the start of his career.

The lead singer for Death Cab for Cutie wrote this song for him.

I actually predict him to hit at least .300 the rest of the season and steal another 15 bags. It looks like he'll be comfortable hittin that low in the order and it will only be good for the team. So refreshign to have a speed guy back in this lineup that can create some shit.

Jones/Ichiro in the outfield. That's 20 gold glove awards. I'd still prefer the ball to be hit to Ichiro though.
