    Nice little 5-1 homestand

    Good to get some wins before they start trading away our best pitchers

    Rumor is that Dempster will be traded today - likely to the Dodgers

    The Cubs discussion had fallen back to page 4 of the AET.

    A lot is going to be happening with this team over the next few weeks. Let's talk some baseball!

    If they don't trade Dempster before tonight's game, they need to sit him.

    No need getting him hurt and reducing his trade value

    We'll be rid of Dempster (unfortunately, but don't worry he'll back with the organization in a few years) for some nice prospects. HOpefully we can shop a deal with Garza and Soriano. Get some more arms and only have to pay two thirds of Soriano's contract. If we don't rid of him this year we're never going to be done with him. He's having a nice year, let's do something with that.

    2 more years and then bam, we'll be really good. That's why I don't mind getting rid of Garza. He does nothing for us now.

    I would be thrilled if we could trade Soriano, even if we have to eat a lot of his salary

    I think this is the best chance we've had since we signed him. And yes, we'll have to eat a ton of it. But might as well be rid of him. He's playing great and teams need bats. San Fran being one of them. He would be awful in that park. Can you imagine him in left of that field?

    Rumor has it that teams are even interested in trading Reed Johnson and Jeff Baker.

    Jeff Baker? Really?

    It will be interesting to see what players are on the field in September.

    Its awesome that Santo is finally getting inducted into the Hall of Fame. It is just sad that it is 1 year to late.

    If he can make it through the first inning, he will break the Cubs record for consecutive scoreless innings

    Ouch - 12 runs in 1 inning. I don't think the Cubs have scored that many runs in 1 week.

    Garza leaving the game early wasn't good news either.
