Yeah, I was there...it was a great show. mcauslan did the beer tent as well....it was nice to have something better to drink than molson.
I also saw joel plaskett there a couple of weeks...it is a really good venue and easy to get to with the ferry. But the weather has to co-operateSo I bid farewell to the Eastern town I never more will see;
But work I must so I eat this dust and breathe refinery.
Oh I miss the green and the woods and streams and I don't like cowboy clothes;
But I like being free and that makes me an idiot I suppose.0 -

Where is it exactly at the Ferry Terminal..is it in the parking lot area? I can't seem to picture it. It would be nice if they had a way to have a weather cover ;-) hahah0 -

Now back in downtown Toronto....and maybe back in Nova Scotia soon if I had my way. Lanners, you're from Sackville originally ? Is that NB or NS ? My sister lives in Sackville NS, across from where the old Hfx. Correctional Ctr. used to be.0 -
Ok...so if you might recall...I mentioned in my Rolling Stone confirmation post that my buddy indicated that another major act was coming separate from the concert and I assumed that it might be Aerosmith, since they couldn't possibly play the 23rd..when the stones are here (supposedly) .....well...I found out today that it was the Black Eyed Peas and Pussycat dolls (In the Daily News). They aren't major acts to me..so I guess its all relative. Anyways..still hope for Aerosmith to give us a shout out...but to any Peas fans..look for an announcement Monday for somewhere in the maritimes (likely Halifax according to my pal)0

Sackville NB. Home of the Mounties (of the Mount Allison variety) and the Waterfowl Park.
I figured BEP would be coming since they seemed to be so smitten with Halifax after the Junos.
I could seriously do without the BEP or PCD...Fergie ruined the Peas and the PCD ooze STD if you ask me. i'm not into skank.i. am. mine.0 -
Anyone hoping to see the Who in Halifax on September 23rd may be disappointed with this:
http://billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1002840096
They are co-headlining a bill with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The line-up also includes: Killers, the Flaming Lips, the Raconteurs, Scissor Sisters, Gnarls Barkley, Keane, Thievery Corporation, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, New Pornographers, Wolfmother, Drive-By Truckers, Kasabian, Brazilian Girls, Tiesto, John Digweed, Carl Cox, 2Many DJs, RJD2 and James Holden.
That kind of sucks for us but that line-up looks killer! I might have to consider going to that. Anyone know how far Baltimore is from Moncton?0 -

okay, so they just announced that BEP and PCD are playing on PEI Labour Day Weekend. You'd think that something official would come from HFX about the big show September 23rd.
Not that i care, really, since i won't be going, but it's always fun to have something to talk about.i. am. mine.0 -
Halifax or Moncton would be great, but i'd simply love it if they came back to Montreal or Quebec city. i'm willing to drive to eitherAlive0

I agree to some extent but there is nothing quite like seeing a kickass band in your backyard. Pearl Jam in Halifax in '06/'07!!0

Guess I was wrong that the Black Eyed Peas were coming to Hali...oh well....PEI will enjoy it, I am sure...I was there this weekend..what a beatiful spot.
Look for the Stones announcement next week....Monday or Tuesday...but next week for sure. Who knows on the openers now...I certainly don't have a clue
To anyone who was following my return to Moncton saga...they called me and want me to come in to see them tomorrow...so..after a 3 hour drive from PEI, I have to get up at 5:30 and drive 2 and a half to Moncton. I will at least listen to what they have to say. Stay tuned . Hahaha ;-)0 -
Aaaahhhhh, I'm bored. What song was your favourite from the Halifax show ? I'm definitely thinking Not for You, although it changes from time to time. LOL...0

for me it goes back and forth between In My Tree and Small Town.
Yeah, i know, Small Town is such an oldie mouldie (for the more seasoned concert goers) but i've always wanted to experience the HELLO on a grand scale, and i wasn't disappointed. i still get shivers...
Hearing In My Tree live, not-so up close but in person, was a re-defining moment in my appreciation of Matt Cameron's drumming.i. am. mine.0 -

Time to join this thread 41 pages late.
Yes, another Pearl Jam show in the maritimes is required. Hali was my first PJ concert experience, and I spent most of the show trying to wrap my head around the fact that i was actually seeing them live. Instead of yelling and rocking out, I was kind of just like "I'm watching Pearl Jam play Hard To Imagine. Neat." I'm still not entirely sure it happened."I think I'm cool." - Stone Gossard.0 -

Welcome NotMike! It's never too late to join the cause!
I was in a similar headspace during the show. I think a lot of people were because for a sizeable percentage of people in attendence it WAS their first PJ show and hopefully not the last.
I remember when Ed came out for the pre-set and the first notes echoed through the Metro Centre. I looked at my brother (it was his first show too) and said something along the lines of : HOLY FUCK! Is this real? Is that really Eddie down there? WTF!
it was at that moment that i realized that miracles can happen and wishes sometimes do come true.i. am. mine.0 -

I jumped up and down at hearing Hard to Imagine as the opener. I couldn't believe it either...I knew it was going to be a good night at that point.0 -
I have to throw this as an add on..I was talking to my buddy who lets me in on the concert news and he said that he was never given a date for the Stones.....and that he was told that the 23rd 'may' not be the date. So..all the opener rumors 'could' be true. Who knows. But he did say that he expects Monday to be the announcement. Be nice to finally hear something and get it out of the way. Im sure people would like to plan on the concert with more than a week's notice ;-)0
-
Hopefully, they're not too far off with that date as I requested the 23rd as a vacation day and got it. Oh well, I've got tonnes of sick time saved up or I could use a mental health day!0

it's going to be interesting to see what transpires over the next week. while i more than likely won't be going, it's always cool to see exactly who is coming and when.i. am. mine.0
