On another note, I had a dream about Eddie a couple nights ago. I was at a huge outdoor party where Ed and the boys were. At the very end of the night I got to talk to Ed and said: "Do you have any idea what you've started in halifax ? You simply have to come back." He agreed, and said (I shit you not): "well, why don't you draw up a contract, even if its one that's hand-written and on a shitty old piece of paper, and we'll agree to do the show. That's all you'll need - and believe me, based on the way things are with us lately, that'll definitely be enough for us". That's all I remember from the dream. Oh yea, and Eddie was wasted. But you knew that already...... And no, Anna Pornikova wasn't my date.
i had a similar dream, but it looked more like a 4H Barn dance and Eddie turned in to the Stay Puft Marshmellow man.
oop...it's thundering. i guess i should go.
it's my birthday so you can guess what i was wishing for with every candle i blew out!!!i. am. mine.0 -

Wow...my concert rumour mill has dried up...not a hint of any news over the last few days...tumbleweed type silence. Know what that means?? Something's right around the corner! ;-) It'll likely be the Stones..but hey...PJ is full of surprises...so all your birthday wishes may come true..whatever they may be
I still think a pre Europe warm up gig is in order!

There may not be an official announcement until the they finalize the rest of the Canadian/US dates so they don't end up announcing something prematurely.0

Happy B'day Lanners. I hope you're gonna have a little fun tonight (not that i'd know what fun is anymore). I thought the Daily News article was interesting too, if for no other reason than how it contradicted an earlier contemporaneous piece from The Coast which panned the show in ha;lifax. That person hated PJ, and basically dismissed them as a bunch of has-beens who were irrelevent. Lets see, they're either irrelevent, or they've set the standard for shows in Halifax......hmmmmm, thats quite the discrepancy.
I'm anxiously awaiting news about any more tour additions. You know, its entirely possible that something could happen in Halifax given its location on the tour path. But i need information soon......0 -
Thanks Truth, for the bday wishes. My bday consisted of bomb threats, shopping, air conditioner drama and some pretty nifty prezzies.
i am counting on all the candles i blew out...yeah, i'm a dork, sue me.
so Truth, are you still paying for Dublin or whaaaaa?
or does that happen after Anna Pornipova pops out of the poster and pops out of her top and pops...well...
anypoo...i'm tired. me makey no sensy no morey.i. am. mine.0 -
Happy belated birthday Lanners! What are you at now?? The big 40? ;-)
So...I've just been, potentially, presented an opportunity for a position in Moncton. Money is same as now..but the potential to make more is greater and the pension plan rocks. But...it is in Moncton....I love my little hometown..but I really, really love living in Halifax. What to do..what to do...
I'd always have a home base in halifax, since my inlaws are here...and financially the move would help (sale of house, etc..)....and maybe finance a little PJ action this year. Heheh. But....it is in Moncton. Tough decision.0 -

I had the same decision at the end of 2005. I made the move back to Moncton. Got my first house at a fraction of the cost that I was ready and willing to pay in Hali. Job has worked out great and enjoying hanging with my friends and family on a regular basis. I really miss Halifax and all my friends there but it's not like it's a country away. I've been back to visit a few times. It's different for everyone obviously but I haven't looked back. Thanks...although the opportunity may have already fallen through. hahah. They want to see me next week..but on the day they want, I have a work trip in progress..I told em I could see them Wednesday, Thursday or Friday in Moncton and they said Tuesday was the only day. So..I said 'No thanks..not appropriate to cancel a work trip for something like that' :-)
And that's that I guess.0 -
That may actually work to your advantage....I refused my first offer here in Moncton saying I had a commitment with my previous job for a project to be completed in Nov..( They wanted me for August ). They called and told me they admired my ethics and offered more money and were willing to wait till October. lol! I couldn't say no..... funny that it's quite a similar situation. Anywho....Here's to Pearl Jam in Halifax in 2006!!|Montreal 03|Halifax 05|St. John's 1 05|St. John's 2 05|Toronto 1 06|Toronto 2 06|NYC 1 08|NYC 2 08|Toronto 09|Hartford 10|Boston 10|Newark 10|NYC 1 10|NYC 2 10|Alpine Valley 1 11|Alpine Valley 2 11|Montreal 11|Hartford 13|Ottawa 16|Chicago 1 16|Chicago 2 16|Boston 1 18|Quebec City 22|Ottawa 22|Boston 1 24|Boston 2 24|0

Well..I hope it is so similar that they offer me more money as well! hahaha
PJ 2006 or....2007...we're not picky0 -

thanks sward...not 40 yet, but it's creeping closer every year.
wow...moving to Sketchton. Having grown up in Sackville, i am familiar with moncton and to be honest, it would be a great move financially on your part, however, i find Moncton to be the sketchiest place on earth. but you know that! you're from there!
i hope you have a similar offer as Boozer and they recognize your dedication and integrity and offer you loads more cash...that way you can help finance my next trip to see Pearl Jam in Halifax in 2006, or 2007.
you're right...we're not picky.i. am. mine.0 -

Hmm..finance? Maybe ...maybe not. ;-)
But...I always have a place to crash for fellow PJ lovers...but only after a few background checks ;-)0 -

BWAA HA HA HA HA
you can't hate a girl for trying.
i'm starting to think that maybe i should come up with a "red paperclip" of my own to fund my PJ addiction. maybe i could trade it up for touring priviledges for a year!i. am. mine.0 -
"i find Moncton to be the sketchiest place on earth" - now that's fucking funny. Thanks for the laugh. Funny cuz its true. But Oshawa would give it a run for its money - it is, after all, the home of the mullet. Hands down. It is also the home of the Kountry Kut & Kurl (yes, I believe its spelled that way - need I say more ?!!)
Am I goin to Dublin, you say ?! Guess it all depends on a couple things, or should i say a couple thousand things ? Unsure, to say the least. I'll have a better idea in about 2 weeks. I'm either going there, or I'm coming down east. If the latter, then I'll likely be stopping in Fredericton to see family. If you're around, Lanners, we should hook up for some PJ chat.0 -
sunday night's the Live show at the halifax metro centre. i'll be wearing thy red mosquito t-shirt. see ya all there.
ps ... good job Q104. they have been playing the pj each & every day. it's about time. good job Q .. good job.0 -
Here's the Wilco review from the Halifax Herald. Sounded likea pretty good show. I liked the dig the band made about the fans in Toronto and Massey Hall.....

Lanners...the only sketchier place than Moncton is Fredericton! ;-) I went to UNB..so I do have a reference. hahaha
Truth - Oshawa? Is that where you are?? K..I thought you were in Halifax, and the Lanners was in Moncton. Wrong on both counts.
I didn't get to see Wilco..but I could hear them. Some people I talked to the next day said that the Alderney Theatre where they played was an amazing spot for a show. I'll have to check it out sometime. Right on the water..so that's good..and there were 3 thousand people for Wilco....Halifax/Dartmouth needs to promote this more..there are a lot of smaller size bands that might play here more if they had other options than 1100 seats ot 10000 seats0
