For those coming to Philadelphia from out of town on Labor Day weekend...
Keep in mind, Philadelphia has it's own meeting place for Pearl Jam fans. A bar called The Irish Pol (45 S. 3rd Street.) They even do an ALL Pearl Jam night every Monday. Monkeywrench Mondays. There will be a huge pre-party all day before PJ plays.
That's super awesome! Coming in from Chicago, will definitely check this place out!
wait, you are coming for this?? good greif.
2 of the angels are coming for this. Got a problem with that?!

OK, New game to keep us occupied while we are waiting....
Guess what day 10club or Made In America will announce the specific date PJ Is playing.
(Whichever comes first, since they are both reliable and wouln't be just a rumor.)
Winner gets 2 things:
1: The knowledge of what date Pearl Jam is playing.
2: 10 "Units of Pride" for being right! :geek:
My guess: Monday, July 23rd
i'll go with the following Monday, July 30th. Hopefully that's when they announce Phase 2 of the line-up as well

I am coming from Boston to see the show...sounds like some people on here dont think that is a good idea...care to comment on why?
You better go! If your guts are telling you to make the trip from Boston, then do it. It would stink to back off the trip then kick yourself for not going. I'm not going to miss it. Neither should you.

We're coming down from CT. Even if I thought I didn't want to go, when the day came and I knew they were only 2 1/2 hours or so away there is no way I could stay home- Plus we love Philly and of course will use any excuse to get a cheese steak!! Wouldn't miss it. Especially as it's my only opportunity this year.

might be coming from CT. Haven't bought a ticket yet though and might just go solo.

I am coming from Des Moines IOWA!
have to see PJ at least once a year - and pretty excited to see Jay Z so close to his own backyard.
Also i loved Philly when i was there for the Spectrum shows -- added bonus i am bringing my sister (who has never flown or seen a concert other than country music) and my buddy who went to his first PJ show in 2010 (this will be his 5th)

How much of a hassle will it be to get to a hotel 2 miles away in this area?
I would advise getting a hotel walking distance to one of the train lines. That way you do not have to drive in. The PATCO line might be your best bet. You could get a cheaper hotel across the water in Jersey, and take a 10 minute train ride in to 8th & Market then walk to the show (about 15-20 minutes.)
Keep in mind, check return train times. Unlike NYC, our trains do not run all night.
What could be Better than a beer with Eddie Vedder.
I want to come down from CT too. I haven't seen PJ since Bridge 2010 and am jonesing for a show. I have a friend in NE Philly that I can stay with so I would park at his place & use public transportation to the 10C preshow meetup. When will the lineups for each day be announced? Will one-day tickets be available? I'm not a Jay-Z fan so would only go on the day PJ is playing.
I will need to check into train/bus times to see when I have to leave the area to get back to my friend's place after the show.
You see me empty, Sir, do not pause and inquire, simply assume and refill.

I hear ya. I have tickets to Night 2 of Bruce, Monday Night. Was going to try and squeeze in Night 1, but obviously thats not happening if PJ is playing Sunday night.
This article is from before Pearl Jam was announced... may turn out to be true but has not been officially announced.
Thats accurate, I wasnt saying its offical, but just what i read. Mike also said in an interview that they were playing the second night. So judging from both sides saying there playing different nights, i would put a great deal of stock into it.
I've heard there are a ton of tickets left for Bruce night 2, I suppose since it's Labor Day and everyone has to go to work the next day. So hopefully the tix will be dirt cheap as we get closer. I already have my ticket for this night but like everyone waiting for the PJ announcement as to whether I will buy night one as well. These are gonna be two special nights for Bruce fans and just a fantastic weekend for Bruce & PJ fans.
Jay-Z should get Rage Against The Machine to play as well as the Foos, Band Of Horses, Gaslight Anthem, The Roots and whatever rap/r&b artists he wants for phase 2 acts

I think it's a great idea! I'm coming in from Cleveland myself.
Because they have no idea what they're talking about - you'll be fine.

Two miles away shouldn't be that bad, but something right in town or on the Parkway I'm sure would be a pain in the ass.
