All Paddy's songs were lovely.... :D

  • What about wolfmother???

Saw them in Edinburgh on Sunday and it was just mad up the front for the 90 minutes and was well worth the 2.5 hour trip from Aberdeen.

And Eddie and Mike have both been on stage with them recently.
March 95 - Melbourne Flinders Park(Dave Grohl on drums for Encore, live on Tripple J night after the riot)
March 95 - Melbourne - OK I was on my flats balcony and couldn't see the stage but I sure could hear them,
    August 06 - Leeds
    June 07 - London

Wolfmother would be brilliant. I didn't know anything about them and found out they were playing Sheffield that night - not hearing any of their stuff I didn't go. Heard their album in Virgin the day after - was gutted I didn't take a gamble!
    :D Rock on!!!! :D
Seen Pearl Jam 4 times in London, once in Manchester, as well as an Eddie show at Hammersmith.

Wolfmother would be wicked too...saw them in Southampton on Sunday. Totally amazing live. Much better live than on the record.

i know you wrote this a while back but amen to that. Hoon was my hero.
  • Some good calls so far, and I'd settle for any of the following:

    Idlewild
    The Cooper Temple Clause
    Wolfmother
    Brendan Benson
Chris Cornell (perfect for a TotD guest spot later on too!)

Preferably I'd like Pearl Jam to play for another half an hour... ;o)

have you seen connor o'berst live. he an ed have many comparisons, check out his earlier albums and any of his lyrics.

"When The President Talks To God"

When the president talks to God
Are the conversations brief or long?
Does he ask to rape our women’s' rights
And send poor farm kids off to die?
Does God suggest an oil hike
When the president talks to God?

When the president talks to God
Are the consonants all hard or soft?
Is he resolute all down the line?
Is every issue black or white?
Does what God say ever change his mind
When the president talks to God?

When the president talks to God
Does he fake that drawl or merely nod?
Agree which convicts should be killed?
Where prisons should be built and filled?
Which voter fraud must be concealed
When the president talks to God?

When the president talks to God
I wonder which one plays the better cop
We should find some jobs. the ghetto's broke
No, they're lazy, George, I say we don't
Just give 'em more liquor stores and dirty coke
    That's what God recommends

When the president talks to God
Do they drink near beer and go play golf
While they pick which countries to invade
Which Muslim souls still can be saved?
I guess god just calls a spade a spade
When the president talks to God

When the president talks to God
Does he ever think that maybe he's not?
That that voice is just inside his head
When he kneels next to the presidential bed
Does he ever smell his own bullshit
When the president talks to God?

    I doubt it

    I doubt it
  • Idlewild are probably more likely than most.

They've toured with PJ before and their new album is out next month. Only heard the one song from it so far but it sounded good :)

not sure about that... i definitely remember an interview with them after their last tour with PJ and they werent very complimentary about PJ...

i'll need to find it but i'm sure they were just a bit "blah" about PJ... not particularly enthused to have been touring with them!

ok i cant find it... but i wouldnt mind it being Idlewild, but i'd prefer KOL or Raconteurs... or Midlake would be amazing
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

  • why all the Paddy Casey bashing? He wasn't THAT bad. Yes, he normally DOES sell out the point on his own and yes, it seems like they got him last minute as a kind of emergency support so fair play to him, in front of quite an abusive crowd, I think he handled it well.

    I wouldn't have done it.

Personally, I'd rather see NO support and certainly nobody listed.
    The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
    Verona??? it's all surmountable
Dublin 23.08.06 "The beauty of Ireland, right there!"
    Wembley? We all believe!
Copenhagen?? your light made us stars
    Chicago 07? And love
    What a different life
Had I not found this love with you

I heard there was no support band for the London Show
  • I was talking to a mate who regularly washes Eddie's windows and he said 4 Tenclub ticket holders’ names will be drawn from one of Jeff’s big hats from the early 90’s. They will be given bongos, a lute, a xylophone and a triangle and will be made to perform freeform jazz for 30 minutes.

    Or so I’ve been told.

I'd rather have that than put up with Incubus *shiver*

I know it is unlikely but I would give (almost) anything to have Chris Cornell there. I've been listening to various PJ MP3's and came across Chris's guest spot performing Cant Change Me and Hunger Strike that I had totaly forgotten about. I was on the train to work at 7.am and couldnt help the tears flowing.

I know I'm sad, but you have to understand, I went into mourning when Soundgarden split, thinking I would never hear Fell on Black Days live again but I did, at the last Audioslave tour. So now if I could just hear any TotD live, my life would be complete.
