Idlewild are probably more likely than most.

They've toured with PJ before and their new album is out next month. Only heard the one song from it so far but it sounded good :)

not sure about that... i definitely remember an interview with them after their last tour with PJ and they werent very complimentary about PJ...

i'll need to find it but i'm sure they were just a bit "blah" about PJ... not particularly enthused to have been touring with them!

ok i cant find it... but i wouldnt mind it being Idlewild, but i'd prefer KOL or Raconteurs... or Midlake would be amazing
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    That's a shame......maybe they were just tired :(

 why all the Paddy Casey bashing? He wasn't THAT bad. Yes, he normally DOES sell out the point on his own and yes, it seems like they got him last minute as a kind of emergency support so fair play to him, in front of quite an abusive crowd, I think he handled it well.

    I wouldn't have done it.

Personally, I'd rather see NO support and certainly nobody listed.
    The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
    Verona??? it's all surmountable
Dublin 23.08.06 "The beauty of Ireland, right there!"
    Wembley? We all believe!
Copenhagen?? your light made us stars
    Chicago 07? And love
    What a different life
Had I not found this love with you

I heard there was no support band for the London Show

I was talking to a mate who regularly washes Eddie's windows and he said 4 Tenclub ticket holders’ names will be drawn from one of Jeff’s big hats from the early 90’s. They will be given bongos, a lute, a xylophone and a triangle and will be made to perform freeform jazz for 30 minutes.

    Or so I’ve been told.

I'd rather have that than put up with Incubus *shiver*

I know it is unlikely but I would give (almost) anything to have Chris Cornell there. I've been listening to various PJ MP3's and came across Chris's guest spot performing Cant Change Me and Hunger Strike that I had totaly forgotten about. I was on the train to work at 7.am and couldnt help the tears flowing.

I know I'm sad, but you have to understand, I went into mourning when Soundgarden split, thinking I would never hear Fell on Black Days live again but I did, at the last Audioslave tour. So now if I could just hear any TotD live, my life would be complete.

No opening band please ! Full Ten Club pit wants more PJ !!! We want them playing long and playing rare songs.

We should start a big petition to have an "evening with pearl jam" like boston 2003 or the Gorge shows. An acoustic set to start and then a regular set.

if not... chris cornell solo would be fine.

I know what you mean, I saw Audioslave and Chris busted out an acoustic Call me a dog - fucking hell it was unreal! The next night (saw them 3 nights on the trot) he played All night thing, again incredible. Just hoping I get to see him perform Seasons, then I really will be happy!

I was priveledged enough to catch Chris on his very own solo tour at Manchester Academy many years ago and Yes we got an intimate version of Seasons.

The fact that he was no more than a few feet away wearing tight lace up jeans and staring in my direction with his piercing eyes is particularily memorable for me, but I suspect he was having trouble focusing during the peak of his substance abuse phase.

    How about Maximo Park?

I know the singer Paul Smith likes the band (read somewhere about how pleased he was to meet Ed at Reading Festival) and they've played Wembley before as a one-off support act for New Order.

    Plus, they rock.

ok youve got me there. and really made me think. "the new guns n roses", if you close your eyes at a gig, its sounds amazing, but you just couldnt do it blind melon. i put nico on last night, and it took me away. again. i think that last post was abit excitable.

ok my vote now goes to rage.

I really don't want any tribute bands or any of these reunion bands.

Pearl Jam are still an excellent band in their own right; I don't want the UK and the UK Press jumping to the conclusion that Wembley was just a celebration of two bands' glory years. I don't want it to look (even to the untrained eye) like a 'nod to the 90s'. Anyone who IS from the UK, knows that that's what WILL happen if we have any of these reunion bands. The Press will not pass up the opportunity for a good joke.

    Just my 2 cents.

Edit: I personally don't give a shit what the press thinks. I just don't like Pearl Jam to be undermined; I've too much respect for them.

i didnt mean it harshly upon you but i always think that bands with lead singers who die should just call it a day... with the excpetion of AC/DC the rest have just been tribute bands with different singers

    The Doors and Ian Astbury
    Queen and Paul Rodgers

its just not the same and i'd be kidding myself if i was to say it was...

i mean if Nirvana came back with Dave and Krist and some unknown grunge singer nobody would give a fuck.. quite rightly... the singer tends to make a band for me.. its what marks them out differently from others

Imagine if Ed left PJ... and they got in some sound-a-like... it just wouldnt be the same... nowhere close, and as much as i love Stone, Mike, et al.. its Ed who is the band... he defines PJ

Actually, believe it or not, I've always found Kerrang have been very in support of PJ the whole time.

They gave them a really supportive article/review of Reading with a big picture of Ed. Basically said that they brought the house down.

And let's not forget they gave Avocado 5/5*****!

But NME and the others can go and... well, you know.

It's very unlikely, but I hope it's not The Arctic Monkeys. Most overrated band of all time, and the NME love them. Enough said really

I doubt the Arctic Monkeys have anything nice to say about Pearl Jam. Their Daddy NME would smack their bottoms.
