I can't stop thinking about that version of Release though; one of the best I've ever heard.
It was my first Release heard live... Heard so many different versions of it before, and i'm not saying that because I was there, but it was truly one of the best versions ever.

Release is one of my favourite songs, especially live and I couldn't have wished for a better opener for the two nights. I thought Eddie was bang on form with his vocals on this.
    Same here! :)

Crowd ruined this show. As Eddie called them on night 2 "A bunch of accountants" - No atmosphere hardly for a fantastic set list. Up until I saw them at IoW this was my least favourite Pearl Jam show ever.

    Garbage.

I was stood about 10 yards from the stage, in line with Mike, for both shows and the crowd was the same both nights.
    Yep, agree :)

Really enjoyed this show, release, come back and jeremy were great to hear. However looking at night 2's setlist I should have gone to that too..

You live and learn mate! Both nights were amazing and was great that they didn't repeat many songs for night 2. Don't think many people will ever miss out on a night 1 or 2 as part of a double header again after the way this tour has gone!

An amazing show! This was my first time seeing Pearl Jam and although I obviously can't compare it to other PJ shows, it was definitely one of the best crowds that I have ever been a part of. Release, Porch and Jeremy were incredible. I now really regret that I couldn't stay in Manchester for the second show.
  • any news when there will be more posters for both manchester nights on sale again?

    Hey Danelle,

Apologies for the late reply, I've been away for a couple of days. Did you get sorted with a ticket stub?

Listening back to the boot this week a couple of times was great. Wow, what an amazing version of Release! I remember Ed sounded good but it's one of the best versions played in quite a while. Ed sounds perfect! Night 2 was so good that it overshadowed night 1 for me at the time but it was really great and the boot just confirms that. Can't wait for the next installment!! 8-)

    Listening as we speak.
    Incredible 1/2 Full.

Never liked that song much, but it's really growing on me.
The end is just spectacular. Drums and guitar.
It's hard to listen and not smash something.

Listening to this again has been an incredible feeling. This was my first ever PJ show, the one that started it all, and if you had asked me before about how incredible this summer would be, I would've said that it'll probably be pretty amazing, but I had not the slightest idea what I what I was actually in for. :D And I got Release, which sounded perfect and was the song I had always wanted to be my first PJ live song...I remember standing front row thinking "wow, they're coming out on stage now, it's actually finally happening". Could barely believe it. :)

I remember how this feels too at my first show in Dublin after years of waiting. I always wanted Release to be my first song too, I got Long Road and I wouldn't change it for anything now. Release was worth the wait though and it's one of the best vocal performances I've heard from Ed.

  • has anyone bought the 10 club cd of this? i purchased my copy from the livedownload site the first purchase was free shipping so thought would try it.

The cardboard sleeve doesn't have any Pearl Jam design inside unlike the others i have from 10 club and i am not 100% sure that the artwork on the discs are not printed lables.

would be interested to hear from anyone who got their copy from 10club to compare. pics would be great! :?
