Great gig, band were in a great mood. Ed signed a girls 'solat' poster, nice touch. Also I got matts drum stick. Pretty good setlist. Hoping for pretty different set tomorrow.

Just back...brilliant show. And far better than I expected for the first of a tour. Band were on fire.

They opened with Release....for me, everything after that was just gravy. THAT made the night. It was what I was hoping for for months. Then following it up with Evolution, Corduroy and Fixer? Easily the best start to a PJ show I've personally attended.

One or two nice surprises of sorts....Pilate was great. Half Full was cool to hear, was never one of my favourites, but nice touch by Ed the end reflecting the light off his guitar....cool effect. Never saw Jeremy before live, so happy with that. And Porch was stunning. As was State Of Love & Trust.

Yeah, the Come Back dedication was a nice touch too....but I still don't like the song. And seeing it live here didn't really change my mind. Insignificance....grand but again never a favourite. But these two were the only ones that didn't completely excite me....everything else was top notch.

Overall, really happy. Going tomorrow aswell, so will be able to compare. Nothing from No Code tonight, so really hope they throw something in on the second night.

Just got back from the gig; my second PJ show (first being London 2009) and this is my first forum post......

    Wow!

Incredible set list and an awesome show. Completely surpassed my expectations with so many highlights; Pilate, Come Back, Nothingman, Jeremy and State of Love and Trust made my night.

    Thank you Pearl Jam

No, he didn't mention the guy by name....just pointed him out in the crowd and and said something to the effect that "...this song is a dedication for this guy here....can't remember if you said you were coming tomorrow night...but we'll do it now just in case something terrible happens....you never know, life is fragile so we'll play it now" words to that effect anyway.

I enjoyed the show, and the band was in great form for the first show of the tour. The setlist was a bit short, and it felt short in person.

I was a little bit disappointed in the crowd, to be honest. In the States, we hear about these legendary European crowds all the time. This crowd was solid, and would be on par with a Boston or Philly crowd, for instance, but didn't blow me away.

7th time seeing PJ and the best yet. From start to finish, they were incredible. Really on fire. Release was beautiful, the only way to start the tour! Ending of Immortlaity was out of this world. Even Flow seemed to go on forever and was fantastic. Pilate - wow that just sounded different, really fucking good and getting Half Full made my night. Porch, fuck that did go on forever. Crazy jam by the guys. Mike and Ed worked the crowd all night, getting right up up to the ones at the front. During Porch Ed even took a camera from someone in the crowd, took of pic of them and gave it them back. And then there's Come Back for Paul. Was made up for him, saw him after the show. He's happy!

I'm reading comments by people that weren't there that it was a short set. Fuck that. You weren't there, it was amazing. 26 songs? Not a bad way to start the tour.

    Round 2 tomorrow :D

Does the band know that Avocado exists? Come Back is the only song off the album that gets played on a regular basis.

Just back from the show.. Still calming down.releases as an opener love it.. Lots of energy in the first 6 songs felt the boys really went for it.. Loved nothingman really moving.. eds voice was incredible... .lots of crowd pleasers and a few surprises. Ed was on great form.. Lots of chatting. Rocking in the free world was a great closer, last few times I've seen them its been yellow Ledbetter - good to finish on a rocking tune! I felt The crowd were really quiet.. Even those at the front of the pit/standing.. I've not seen such a quiet crowd before.. I was trying to make up for about 500 people!! Awesome set list overall.. Wish I was seeing them tmrw night too!

5th PJ show and boy, it did not disappoint! Starting off with Release... I got goosebumps. Some great jams and longer than normal songs... which is all good in my books. Big big smile during the drive back home.

  • Took my 8 year old. He's been to school today so managed to fall asleep during .....love and trust, which wasnt ideal!

Great gig though. Didnt notice the Cornwall chat. And also took Junior for a piss during Even Flow (managed to get back before it finished!) but all in all, a solid gig. Hope tomorrow is as good, though I have no worries on that score!

Came extra from Switzerland just to see PJ (and Chris Cornell :-) ) and it was worth it. 4th time I've seen them now, the first time seated (which wasn't so bad after all).

The show was great, setlist was solid (little short, but arent the all?), the crowd showed lot of energy. Really looking forward to see them again tomorrow.

See you down at the pub for a pint tomorrow, cheers ;-)

Ed was his usual self, running round the stage, jumping all on the show. Played guitar. Nearly got hit in the face by Jeff's bass during Porch. They were on fire tonight, didn't feel like the start of the tour, felt like they were straight into the groove.
