well looks like no shows for me this year. play the south in 2013?

    Hopefully.

If I'm going to break my 5 year streak this year, I'd at least like to start a new one next year...

Sending in my postcard for the week today... (forgot to send one earlier the week :fp: )
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

I would if I could. As of right now, I have a pretty major conflict. It could still happen, but its not looking good.

Am I the only one willing to grovel?

Reasons to tour the South, including Texas, (specifically Dallas):

The current population in Texas is approximately 25 million with 6.3 million folks in the DFW area.

Dallas is naturally a perfect tour stop in between other southern cities, as historically Dallas was actually founded as a trading stop along the trading routes from (north-south) Houston to Chicago and (east-west) Denver to Atlanta. For years and years and years, cattle drives, locomotive trains, and ferries traveled through Dallas as a stop along the main trade routes. (Tour buses stop here regularly, too!)

So even today Dallas has the whole trade stop feel. We've got everything anyone could possibly need: great hotels, museums, restaurants, friendly southern people. We've got Shiner beer! We've got TexMex! (C'mon, that's the best food on earth.) And most importantly, so many Pearl Jam fans have made this little trading post their home.

And the economy is good here! Especially in comparison to other parts of the United States. (http://www.bls.gov/news.release/laus.nr0.htm) So it can be concluded that the Pearl Jam fans here have some extra spendy money! :D

And if you have any concerns about the whole red state/blue state thing, take a closer look: http://elections.nytimes.com/2008/results/states/president/texas.html

And, y'all, most importantly, the awesome Pearl Jam fans here haven't seen a proper Pearl Jam show since 2003. We miss you!

    We'd love to have you!

    < / grovel >

Edit: Oh! I forgot to mention! We have a great basketball team! :)

All I have to say is that if you're stopping in Dallas, you should come visit the biggest city in the state of Texas..... HOUSTON! ;)

Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...
