the last one is a purebred siberian which scares me a little because i know that purebreds are a LOT of work (chew a lot if they get bored) and the middle one (my favourite) is a husky x malamute... the top one is husky x lab... all so cute!

The middle guy but they are all 8-)

unfortunately these girls aren't from shelters :(
every day i search petfinder, adoptapet, and spca to see if there are any husky mix puppies coming up, to no avail, at least no female ones. i have resorted to checking out local sellers.

the top one is actually husky x retreiver... my mistake. "gobarian" apparently! LOL

Aww... I'm quoting it so everyone has to see it three times - its that good. :)

I love puppy pictures... they lose that "puppy" look so fast! But the adult look isn't too bad either. My dog's now 10.5 so he's getting the old man look though... that I kind of don't like seeing, but since he gets around pretty well still I can't complain!

Of course you're getting snow and we're in the mid 90s before humidity, so we're staying inside this weekend for completely different reasons!! :D

Its Moonee Beach, just north of Coffs Harbour...it really is the most beautiful of places...but dont tell anyone. Dogs are still allowed on most beaches, and there are a few leash free dog beaches as well...

I know it well. A mate of mine lived at Corindi Beach for about 6 years and I'd get up there every chance I got. I love Arrawarra. One of my favourite places in the world

    Aww!

I adopted a Husky mix named Layla (after the Eric Clapton song) yesterday. She's so beautiful. Apparently she's scared of storms, so she stayed inside and cuddled next to me the whole night.

Good on you for adopting too. There are way too many animals out there that need loving homes and don't get them.

I thought this might be the place to ask, so here it goes:

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep a dog out of the litter box? I keep finding it with the lid completely removed, and I'm pretty sure it's not the cat.

I've considered putting a small "doggy door" kind of thing on the door to the room where the litter box is located for the cat, but I do not own the place where I live so I don't want to go to the trouble of rigging a door.

I don't want to keep our cat locked in a room all day with his poop palace just to keep Zeke from getting into it.

Right now, my best idea is to put a litter box together out of one of those Rubbermaid storage totes and cut a hole in the lid on top. I think the cat could still get in and out, and Zeke wouldn't be able to get his mischevious snout in there.

So, pet owners... got any other suggestions?
