i will try to either call in sick tomorrow/find someone to replace my shift so ic an get on the ferry and go there if my mom agrees.... i cant believe this is actually happening

I phoned the shelter today since I have been checking all week and she was still there despite her brother and sister getting adopted. I told them I had emailed my application for her but she said that I better send it again, and that I would get a call and they would tell me whether or not I should come over. So i faxed it about an hour ago. She is now no longer listed... I am assuming she is adopted. I'm a little cheesed since when I first spoke to the lady last week she seemed rather rude. This lady seemed that way too.

I guess that's what I get for my (and all your) efforts of fundraising the last couple years... The lady told me to email it and they obviously never even looked at it and now it is too late. :evil:

Ugh I just talked and she's like oh sorry she is gone.
I said well why didnt you look at my application last week?
and she said its best not to email them because they get lots of applications.
i said WHY DID the lady tell me to email it then?

then it wasn't meant to be...when i was looking for a dog, i'd find one and go to meet it and it was gone...and when i picked norm, i really didn't put that much thought into it...because i realized i was over thinking it...glad i stopped doing that

i think because i told myself if she was still thre by monday then i was meant to have her... it's too bad that my application got lost but maybe you are right. i think i am more peeved at how rude they were there and how uncaring they were. i guess they deal with lots of people but still...

no excuse for acting rude...and for people that are always saying 'adopt, adopt' they should focus on people that are there to actually adopt!

This is definitely true. They really should be more accommodating to people who are TRYING to adopt a dog from them!

I know one person who is a regular volunteer at our local shelter and she was saying the one thing thats difficult is when they get a pure breed dog they get like 1,000 applications but for muts its usually much lower, so they put a lot more energy into replying to the mut interest since they know they won't get as many chances. I don't know if that's why they hadn't gotten to yours or not, but either way they shouldn't have left you wondering for a week! The muts not getting much love makes me sad though... muts are awesome.

i prefer a mix!
i really want a puppy... when i move out and have my own place i will adopt an adult doggy too. but for having one dog i feel selfish but i want a puppy.

Molly played a trick on me.

Molly still can fit between the bars of our ornamental aluminum fence and escape.
During my lunch, I come home to let the dogs out each day . Scooter came in. Molly was plopped down in the middle of the yard as I was calling her. I put something in the pantry and came back to the door. She was gone. I freaked out and went into the back yard calling her looking everywhere. Of course Scooter was following me as I was saying “treats”. People were mowing their yards (all are open but mine). I was freaked out.
Ran into the front and was looking everywhere calling her name. Looking at the sides of the house, other front yards, etc.
I ran back inside and called her name and both dogs came shuffling towards me out of our den. Some kind of stick was hanging out of her mouth. Then she happily trotted up to me and dropped ½ of a mummified frog on my foot. I yelled “ugh!” and had to clean it up. She thought she was in trouble for a few minutes due to my disgust.

We did the same... we just never got the second adult dog because we waited too long and thought he'd be too selfish/jealous with a second one here.

Seriously, if our son had been a girl he would have been called Molly. If I'd had any other kids, and a girl had come next, she would have been Molly, so it made sense to call her by that name, she's my little girl

speaking of... with the last one adopted (not by me :( ) here are some other puppies in the mix:




the last one is a purebred siberian which scares me a little because i know that purebreds are a LOT of work (chew a lot if they get bored) and the middle one (my favourite) is a husky x malamute... the top one is husky x lab... all so cute!
