Mike is a tremendously considerate performer. He was always looking at at the crowd and pointing at different people. I lost track of how many guitar picks he unloaded into the audience. I saw him neatly folding and stacking the Canadian flags that were thrown onto the stage. At the end of the show when he was walking off stage he took off his shirt (I think it was a Pittsburgh Pirates shirt) and traded it with an audience member. I'm positively floored by how generous he is with his time and attention.

I gotta mention that Matt doesn't have a chicken arm when it comes to throwing drum sticks into the audience. Weenie drummers usually don't go much farther than the first couple rows, but Matt launched them pretty far. He even tossed a handful into the high seats behind the stage. It's really great to see that much consideration.

Yah he traded shirt with a girl sittin in the front, i saw her after the show.

I was hoping eddie would throw me the tamborine, i was sittin section 123 row 2(seats just befor the stage mikes side) and wen eddie came to the corner of the stage with the tamborines i stood on my chair hopin hed spot me and throw me the tamborine, no luck thought :( ....on day hopefully

  • Best Band Ever
  • This was my first concert ever (I'm a reletively young PJ fanatic), and let me tell you guys (as you've alreayd been saying), it was phenominal. My God, seeing one of, if not the single greatest, band of all time at the top of their ability was mind-blowing. Mr. McCreedy, you are a guitar God, simple as that, and I could go into detail about how incredible the rest of the band was, but anyone who was there (or downloaded the boot) already knows that. Everyone was 100% spot-on, the crowd was great, everything was just amazing.

Thank you, Pearl Jam, for making my first concert a great one. I saulte you guys.

  • WOW!

There are letters on this keyboard, and words and phrases in my mind but no combination of these can come close to describing what I just witnessed at Copps Coliseum!!!

Eddie opened up and let us all in for a performance for the ages.....From the slow intro to Porch, to the version of Sad, to the promised story that described his missed wedding of his best friend and the ensuing video "production" Eddie IS an asshole!!! (MUCH LOUDER THAN THE REST!)

This was a spectacular show that kept on going. The version of Black will be forever etched in my heart, especially the bowing by Eddie towards Sir McCready!

Harvest Moon blew me away, and RITFW with the lights on (and SK) left me with the satisfaction of another perfect evening (much like last night in London) only to be topped by Yellow Ledbetter!!

For me though, and you can tell that my thoughts are all over the place, the highlight was the amount of noise brought on by the version of Alive! I've seen a lot of shows, by a lot of bands, but my ears are still throbbing from the enthusiasm brought on by this rendition. Hamilton took over!!!

WOW again, the greatest band in the world does not disappoint! I hope the rest of you enjoy what is coming your way!

  • This was my first PJ show ever (and my first post here)

I want to thank all of YOU who were there last night. You made this an incredible event - much more than just a simple concert. I can't believe how incredibly friendly, thoughtful and enthusiastic everyone was at the show. The band is one of the best - but so are the fans!

PJ FANS ARE TRULY THE BEST OUT THERE!!!! Thank you.
  • Hi all,

This is my first post on the forum, though I'm a newbie here I've been on other PJ lists, from the original GOS, oceans, longroad.....
I'm writing from my hotel room in Montreal.
The t-shirt I gave Mike meant a lot to me and I had been trying for years to give it to him. It was from the first Rolling Stones concert I went to in Detroit in 1978 at Masonic Temple (a place PJ played in 1994). I've saved the shirt all these years.
I gave it to Mike as a thank you for all the great music he and the band have given me (and the rest of you all) over the years. Knowing that he loves the stones I thought he would really like such an old shirt from an old concert.
Mike if you read this, please enjoy the shirt from one stones fan to another and thank you for all the great music and wonderful shows I've seen.

PJ have the greatest fans around, everyone I've ever met at the shows have been friendly, smart, well read. You guys/gals are the best!! And I'm proud to be in such a great group of 10 club members.

    cya tomorrow,
    Maggie Stinson

hey man, are you the super tall dude who sat right in front of me and my wife at both the london and hamilton shows? I think you also went to the Thunder Bay show? Anyway, my wife kept saying..."man, he's getting some really good pictures, you should ask him for his email address." Well, thanks for taking such good pictures and sharing them with everyone. Very cool of you.

I am so blown away by this show still... my father is looking at me wondering what I am doing staring all tear-eyed at the computer.

Everything was just magic and perfect... the band, the people, the setlist...
It was my second show. I went to the London one the day before, and did not think it could be topped... well, it could. The Hamilton show made me feel like I know exactly what people mean when they say Pearl Jam concerts are a religious experience :o

Thank you to all of you who were there... thank you for being such a cool bunch of people. And nerdish as I am, I will extend my appreciation to the policy of not selling alchool during the show. With one exception, everyone had the chance to savor the show to its fullest.

    Really, I can't believe I was there...
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.

  • Did anyone see me? I was in a green van with 10C Kitc.Lon.Ham.TO painted on the back and a PJ with a lightning bolt on each side. We were getting homked at like crazy. ^_^

GreyRedGirl. We saw you in the 10C mobile. We passed you around Lincoln Alexander Parkway in a PT Cruiser honking like crazy, holding our "Rats" sign (you were probably wondering what the heck we were holding up).

Did anyone see my brother holding a big white "Rats" sign at the back across from the stage? I thought they saw it and that we'd all be able to say "Hey, we were at the only show they played Rats since Atlanta 1994." Alas, it was not to be...darn...or should I say, rats. I bet Matt's never even played the song.

Decent show in Hamilton, but would have to say that Winnipeg was vastly superior due to the crowd. Hamilton-crowd had fun and rocked, but Winnipeg had a full on Pearlgasm! Seriously.

  • I saw your Rats banner when Eddie did the mirror dealy during 1/2 Full. I was hoping it would get played, but the set was awesome either way.

Damn straight we saw you at the show. When Eddie was using the mirror to reflect light around the stadium I noticed your Rats sign. And I remember your car going by cuz I was kicking the back of the driver's seat. He said the PT Cruiser was full of the Rats renegades. I was pleased as punch when I heard the Rat troupe passed us. ^_^ Maybe we'll see each other in Toronto eh?

I have to say, sharptoe those are some bloody fantastic pictures. I need to buy you a drink or something. ^_^

Cool. Another scurrying member of the Rats Nation!

You know, if all 20,000 of us bring a "Rats" sign to Toronto...(hint, hint)...we could be present when the only boot with "Rats" is laid down.

  • Anyone get filmed and questioned for a supposed PJ doc by some american student in hamilton last night? Those guys are supposedly going to every gig making this thing.

I showed them the pic of eddie in my wallet and answered some questions while looking terribly nervous . Ahhh. But I saw them interviewing others too.

They filmed us all trying to wait for the band (which NEVER happened, dammit) who obviously were not there.

BTW I really DON'T like copps coliseum as a venue. I felt like a monkey trapped in a cage with garbage seats. Just me. We ended up walking all the hell over the place and did get quite close to the band. I even got to see Eddie fall up close. Poor Ed!

Anywho, just wondering. Great show. Played my favs too, yay!
