Harvest Moon, so very very sweet!

yet another great show ... they looked tired coming on stage but they continue to give and give ...

eddie singing harvest moon with the band in tux's and SK on backing vocals ... special ...

Harvest Moon and RITFW should be listed as being w/ SK...Rockin' was
    tons of fun...

    08/05/92 - Barrie, Ontario (Lollapalooza), 08/18/93 - Toronto, w/ Neil Young, 10/01/96 - Toronto ,08/22/98 - Barrie, Ontario,10/05/00 - Toronto, 06/28/03 - Toronto, 09/13/05 - Hamilton ,09/19/05 - Toronto, 08/21//09 - Toronto, 09/11-12/11 - Toronto, 9/15/11 - Hamilton, 10/12/13 - Buffalo, 05/10-12/16 - Toronto, 05/09/22 - Phoenix

  • Amazing show. Eddie was clearly enjoying himself. Was funny when after one of his many toasts he said, "I'm gonna feel this tomorrow". The crowd was amazing as well, just kept giving the band energy all night. Anyone else pissed off that they stop selling beer so early???
  • I liked the little tag for Betterman...'my whole life'...and I knew it sounded familiar when I heard it in London...but couldn't place it. Then, when Sleater Kinney played in Hamilton, I knew where I had heard it before! Nice.

Can't believe I heard 'U' and 'Sad' live!!

Eddie said he was missing an old friends wedding because of the tour, and had us all tell Jack 'We're sorry Jack'...then tell Janet 'We love you Janet.
All of the band members had jackets or tuxedo coats on with a boutinere.
Eddie's was a cut away tux...that he wore over his regular clothes. Sleater Kinney came out and shared a mike during Harvest Moon. Loved it all!

During Untitled, Eddie sang 'grab the kid and let's go'...something like that.
There's more to balance than not falling over.
  • Awesome show... starting with a slow-build of Porch. The energy just didn't let up.

Highlights - amazing version of Sad with Ed lighting up the crowd with a mirror. Harvest Moon was beautiful. RITFW was a riot, and the band looked to be having alot of fun all night.

I hope Ed gets some good rest today as he looked pretty out of it at times... poor dude took a couple of headers including one into a speaker behind Mike. But he recovered like a pro, of course. :)

Frickin great night... can't wait for Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Halifax!!!

Great show. Seen a bunch over the years and this one is right up there. While they looked a little beat up they worked the show beautifully. EV was toasting all night and the crowd was (in most parts) in key. I think it kind of blew EV and the band away a little. Highlight was the tribute to Jack and Janet with a great cover of NY's Harvest Moon with SK and the boys in tuxes. I clocked it at just over 2.5 hours. Never seen a bad one all the way back to 91. Enjoy TO tomorrow night!

Strangest thing about last night was the abundance of tickets. Man I had
to eat my extra. Couldn't sell it for $10..I saw two girls who offered me
their extra FOR FREE. Don't see that very often. The scalpers had wads of
them as usual and most certainly took a bath too. Tons of people with
singles. Saw a fan club guy with a 10th row floor who couldnt' sell it. Bizarre. Yet the arena was packed all around.

    downloading it now ...

i just wanted to thank the lady at the 10 c window ... and whoever ok'd my tix without any real id ... it was hell getting out of the city and kinda showed up around 8:40 ... i grabbed some cash and what i thought was my drivers license ... turns out it was a friggin' albertsons card - the sad part is there aren't any albertson grocery stores here - i dunno why it was even in my wallet ...

anyhoo - i remembered 5 of my 6 number member number and she got confirmation to let me have em ... phew!!
  • Yeah, strange about the scalps. Know some folk who got scalps for $40/ticket, decent seats 20 minutes before the show started. Anyone at hess after the show??? Seemed to be tonnes of fans there getting a few beers, seeing as they cut off the beer sales about 4 songs into the show last night!
  • A few of us were close enough to see there was *something* on his shirt, but not sure what it said.

    Anyone?
  • It was a Sleater-Kinney shirt - the front said "Show me your riffs" and the back said "Sleater-Kinney".

    Cheers...
    Steve
    "Shoe the Shoeless!"
  • I noticed that as well. Someone I know purchased his ticket from a scalper at face value around 6:30pm, then accidently I ran into him and gave him my spare 10c ticket. We tried getting rid of his Ticketmaster afterwards, and forget about getting back the $60 he paid for it. An hour later, you see scalpers with tons of tickets still available and selling WELL below face value. We were lucky enough to get $25 for it.

Plenty of ten clubbers selling their tickets as well.

Have you ideas on how this life ends?

  • I know of no other band that gives so much of themselves during a show. How they can do it once a week, let alone 6 of 7 days, is well beyond me. The show was AMAZING. I was admittedly a bit worried when they started their set, because they really looked exhausted, but it wasn't more than two songs before they startd tapping into the audience's energy and rocking out. The audience and the band fed each other all night along. Too fantastic. So glad I'm going to Toronto too! Will we ever get a Canadian tour again? I sure as hell hope so!

It's a special experience that goes way beyond just hearing your fav songs live.

question: what did that flag that was thrown on stage say? Eddie crashed into the speakers to catch the thing, and I figured he was going to make public display of it... somebody said it had the word 'bush' on it?

The big banner that was tossed on stage that he ended up triping over his mic cord and smashing his head against the speakers said, "BUSH CAN'T SURF" I think I got a pic of it from behind the stage. Nearly pissed my pants when I saw him hit the speaker, hope he's ok

harvest moon is absolutely beautiful. great job on this one. definitely not an easy song to cover.
we were but stones....your light made us stars

Around 7:00 or so, I bought a ticket at the box office..section 108, aisle, row 16. Couldn't have asked for a better ticket.
  • Awesome show again! Harvest moon with i guess Sleater kinney was fuckin amazing. Untitled with MFC was also a highlight. This tour has just been the best. All the tailgating, booze drugs partying. What a blast...only one more to go, but i can't complain
  • pre-set...throw your arms around me. One of the few songs I haven't had the pleasure of seeing live. just mmmmmmmmmm

Porch being the opener. One of our friends wanted to hear this, and having it open brought huge smiles and a warm heart knowing she was hearing this.

In My Tree :) It's my favourite song and I can never tire of it.

Sad and U...U especially sounded great

Present Tense can't hear this enough. You can feel the passion and love from both the band and the crowd for this

    Untitled...grab the kid :)

Harvest Moon. There cannot be enough said about this. From the story leading up to it, to hearing the first few chords and i thought Ed nailed it. Neil is a favourite, and hearing Ed cover this almost brought tears to my eyes. I was concerned when he said he was bringing out SK to join him...but it worked its magic.

I love the Ed rants, the change of lyrics, the dramatic falls(although the header into the bin looked a little scary),the smiles, the laughter during YL, trying to kick Mike a few times when he was crazy running all over the place.

Looking forward to seeing what's in store for us in Toronto and Ottawa.

  • I just got back home from a crazy drive to chicago after the show. Here are the pictures I got from the show last night. Enjoy...

  • Someone asked what the song was added to Betterman. It was Sleater-Kinney's "Modern Girl". It sounded familiar because SK played it earlier in the night, and every night they've opened up.

    PJ Sparks

God, what an amazing last three nights!!!

  • sorry this is a bit long

this was the last of the four shows i got to attend on this tour and it totally blew me away (the other being vancouver, calgary, and london). it was an amazing experience from the moment i got to the venue. i had the amazing pleasure to be in the front row with one of my best friends dead in front of mike, i was totally floored when i picked up my tickets and saw i was front row but being in front of mike made it even better. i had front row in calgary too and that was very special too, i feel so blessed to have had that opportunity.

the set list was great and i enjoyed everything they played. harvest moon was incredible and i loved seeing the guys all dressed up, especially mike he was lovin it strutting around on stage:) i think some of the highlights of the night for me were when ed came over to watch mike solo, especially when he was down on his knees just enjoying him play.

To the band if they ever read this...

to mr. michael mcready, you blow me away! it was such a priviledge to watch you play last night and you were the highlight of the tour for me. thank you for making the night so special and for making sure i got a guitar pick and for giving your set list to my friend and i. i am in constant awe of your talent and i cannot thank you enough!

to ed, thank you so much for giving me your guitar pick in calgary, it made my first front row experience an incredible event and meant the world to me!

to the whole band, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. i cannot even being to explain how much i loved and enjoyed these four shows. seeing you live is one of the greatest experiences of my life and i will be eternally grateful. thank you for treating your fans so well and giving us the opportunity to get such great seats to the shows. thank you most of all for the music which has meant so much to me over the years, i just can't say thank you enough.

my thanks also goes out to the hard working staff of the ten club who hooked us up with all the tickets, it may seem like your work goes unappreciated some days but i can't thank you enough!

overall, it was a great way to end off my shows this time around and i will never forget this show:)

  • ROCKIN' IN THE FREE WORLD was the single greatest live performance of any song I've ever seen in concert!!! Simply amazing!!!!

A toast to Pearl Jam for probably the best concert I've ever been to!
  • Twas an amazing show!

does anyone happen to have a picture of Eddie while they were playing RITFW, but when he had the Canadian flag held up over his shoulders/holding it up in the air? I'd love to have a copy.
  • Amazing, amazing, amazing. The energy....I just cannot explain the energy in that place last night. Great set, Eddie looked pleased with the crowd, the boys were tight....especially pleased with Matt.
Porch as an opener?!?!?!?! Amazing night.
    Cant wait for Toronto.
