you have to be a total jackass to complain about a free Pearl Jam concert, location anywhere...
i think some people in the 10c just feel really entitled to their 4th row floor seats and think everyone around them should know every lyric of 'gremmie out of control' :P
fantastic

I have eaten some pizzas when in New York last year, and I must say: it's a shame there's no real pizza over there
:P
I am myself like you, somehow...

yes i realize NYC is 3,000 times easier to get to ... but PJ20 was an EVENT in the world of PJ... and lawn seats could be bought with ease
It's a lot easier for international fans and cheaper to get to NY than Chicago>Alpine. And NY I bet ppl would go to just to see and stay in the city a few days. Chicago doesnt have the samke appeal.
I did not go to PJ20 - I would def go to this.
two of my friends are in NY right now, I was close to buy tickets and go over for the weekend. But seems I'm saving the cash and the trip for september

So, about this show. I really hope we hear some news about it soon.

It would be beautiful to see PJ outdoors, in the park, under a moon lit night....with the cool Sept. breeze carrying the thumping bass out to the city streets.
I'm moving to Los Angeles next week, so i might miss this, unless i fly out. If it's free then I won't go. No way I can justify $500 round trip plus expenses to share our band with free loaders. I'd much prefer to pay and have it be organized to the teeth.
If their doing an Atlanta show, then NYC possibly, then I would bet my bottom dollar that their will be a west coast show with both bands on the bill. I flew from Philly to Milwaukee for PJ20, and that worked out, but I've been to NYC more times than I can count as a kid on the train from Trenton. It's madness with out the biggest band playing for free.
I for one wouldn't want to fly all the way out so I can listen to the music 200 yards away. 750k showed up for Garth Brooks. Let's just say 500k showed up and half were...as 'SueMay' put it, were texting teenyboppers. Fighting through all the non-fans just there for a free show is crazy talk. There was barely enough places to take a piss in Alpine. Dudes were peeing behind the snack booth down to the left of reserved seating. Smells were so bad buying a beer was an experience.
I love our band, but I enjoy $1000 spent wisely too. If NYC is the only other show then Atlanta, then I really hope it's limited to 10C and raffle. Pearl Jam did this on a much smaller scale in 03' at the HOB in Orlando. Best concert EVER for me. Tickets for 10C and radio promo and raffle only.
The minute you tell a tweeting teeny that they have to work for a PJ ticket, they'll forget about it and move on.
Either way it's a tough decision for folks who are not in the North East of the states. I want to keep the positive vibe flowing, so I will add my karma 2 pennies to this thread.
This will happen, and folks will be happy. I wish for a well organized concert that you have to pay for thru 10c or win tickets or raffle. Have fun with this ya'll.
^^^ thats how I feel. But prepare to be put down for 'complaining' and your need to 'get a grip'. I guess these are rediculous concerns.
Of course, we should wait and see if there is a show, and how it is organized, etc... But if it is a complete free for all with the Foos and PJ, count me out. I really hope everyone enjoys it.... but its not for me.
in fairness....he said it would cost him a grand for travel....i can't see myself dropping that sort of a coin on a show unless it's someplace cool (not ny) and has the chance to be an awesome show (see philly 09)

So I can assume they atleast are thinking about this.
Is this why the cancelled Alpine? Not being able to sell it out maybe and didn't want to gamble on selling even less tickets this year?
And I know this guy, who dates this girl, who went to elementary school with this guy, whose cousin works for the parks department

BEP setup in Sept
the one freaking week i need him he has some flu shit or something
i wish all shows were priced at $500 per seat minimum to keep out all the free loaders, non believers and poor people.
A free concert....
Pearl Jam/Foo Fighters....
At Central Park....
And this guy isnt going because there will be to many free loaders there???
hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
If you live in the NY area there is no reason not to go.
But ofc, many people will choose not to travel for this because of these reasons given.
Where lies the problem?
I wouldnt have met half of you folks.....
hehehe
