the newark show was only announced something like 6 weeks before the show and you had the 2 msg shows to compete with. It's not like the newark show was empty, there were a few tiny sections that didn't sell tickets. much more people attended the newark show than k.c., st louis, columbus, and cleveland.
newark setlist might of been just as good as ny city night 2, that was a sick set brother, alone, footsteps all in the same setlist

For me, Newark was a better show.

I guess this Central Park show won't be happening now?

Just heard from a friend who has a family member in production that Central Park is still alive. Apparently not a double bill though - 3 different nights - Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam and one other 'classic rock' show - he thinks possibly Jimmy Buffet. Still late September (not sure exact date) but he was told over the 4th of July about it so some fresh rumor to start the week...

Just reiterating what I heard - he wasn't sure the date, said fall - I had planted September in his head unfortunately because i told him it was a dead issue. I was surprised to hear it but this isn't the type of guy who exaggerates or makes stuff up - and it was unprovoked in the sense that I hadn't even mentioned a word about it.

In other words, too random not to mention.

since they are playing Missoula the next night I doubt they are playing in NYC. But it doesn't rule out the Foos. There is definitely something happening in the park that day as they moved the half marathon I had entered.

Now that is an interesting update. Sounds like Foos only to me too, but I will hope for a miracle.

Foos are a definite, from what I'm being told. PJ, not so much. I've been told by a few different people that PJ isn't solid, but they're not completely ruled out either. That's all I know. And it is possible for them to play Central Park and then fly out and play Missoula the next night. Planes are a wonderful invention ;)

The logistics required to transport their gear make this impossible.

and what would be the point? Why not play Central Park another weekend? It's not like they have a huge tour planned or anything

When my buddies first told me about Foos/PJ they said James Taylor was also playing in Central Park. Don't think they meant the same night. So your story makes sense.I know the Foos are playing the 29th as my buddies are working that night for sure.

Not necessarily. Metallica played 3 shows in one day (all different locations). I'm sure they have enough gear to have two shows set up in two different places.

Yep, just got confirmation from a legit source. Free show w/ limited tickets Central Park. No idea how they are going to be distributing tickets for this but they are on the bill and Ticketmaster is not hosting it!!!

I have a really hard time believing anything will happen on 9/29 in NYC:
    • Montana show is on 9/30 and there's a band meet & greet for VIP ticket holders and Jeff Ament is doing a dinner thing with the Super VIP ticket holders
    • There are no direct flights between NYC and Missoula (trust me, I've tried checking everyday hoping for one to be added :lol:
    • Quickest flight from NYC to Montana is 7 hours
    • The guys are not spring chickens anymore, they are going to need sleep

But don't let me stop you from speculating if it's fun and stuff
