100pacer is obviously not in a position to say anything and I don't blame him. It's not fair for people to ask him for information. I had heard the Foos/PJ initial plans a while ago and heard it broke down before the festival dates were announced. The 2 festival dates announced so far seem to be remnants of the original plan. If both 100pacer and neily are saying there are no plans for PJ to be at Central Park, I'm buying it.

No harm. Speculating is always fun. We won't know anything either way until something is officially announced anyway. For all we know, what 100 Pacer heard the band was going to do fell through..or maybe they are going to travel from wherever else they are playing around that time to NYC for the show. They did that for ACL in 09.

I truly appreciate you updating us and giving us something to think about and look forward to (if it does happen). If this were to happen, it would continue my trend of seeing PJ every 2 years, starting in 2008.

The only reason I piped up is because people were clearly getting beyond excited and looking into purchasing airline tickets and reserving hotel rooms and completely rearranging their personal schedules to be at phantom PJ show in Central Park on 9/29. I probably shouldn't have said anything and let the rumor perpetuate even further, but I figured the majority here didn't need to waste their time and/or energy on something that wasn't in the cards. Do I have a credible source? Why would I have said anything otherwise if I knew it not to be true? Believe what you will.

My guess is, the security and such hasn't been told it will only be Foo now - their not the first to be told such changes - cuz what does it matter to them who plays anyways? It's not like "its only Foo on the bill now" will change their job much...

Don't blame the fanclub at all. You should amend your statement to say "I wish a band or its management...". It is CLEAR that the band is not too thrilled about touring these days, and my guess is the fan club has no clue how the wind will blow one day to the next as far as the band deciding if they want to tour or not. My guess is the band's management are in constant talks about touring so that when the band decides they feeling like touring (probably last minute) they have options available. I'm probably wrong, but that is my perception. It would be difficult to provide info to fan club members for a band that doesn't like touring and likes the flexibility of doing things on their own schedules where at the last minute they may decide not to tour.
You should be mad that since Avocdo's release in 2006 we've got 36 minutes of new Pearl Jam music (unless you count Ole and fan club singles).
