i asked a simple question yesterday, it was not answered
    i'll rephrase it here

who's going to uncle ted's tonight for giraffe & rhinoceros steaks? he just killed the fucker last week in Kenya. they drove up to the great tall beast and blew its heart out w/ a high power rifle. ted then turned and murdered a rhinoceros for shits and giggles.

    tonight when @ uncle ted's
if you ask ted maybe he'll throw on some mountain lion chops.
we all know how tasty big cat is
I would its the same as going for your burger man and Ted eats what he kills
he is man enough to own that he kills
you support cows chickens pigs mystery meat to die you kill them
rhinoceros is an critically endangered species. they are almost gone, man.

OF course not - no one said it was (well... a person or two were a bit confused about the various terms used), as long as you do so within the laws of the states/countries where you 'trophy' hunt. It's big business, etc. But again, all this has been discussed in this thread. What is illegal (thus poaching) are certain activities Mr. Nugent indulged in as per the title of the thread (and other hunting 'misunderstandings' with the law).

Well I don't eat meat anymore 5 years total now on two occasions. I never hunted in my life..my choice...I've been trained to hunt in a way through the military very well...I had no choice there. I will say I have fished and may fish in the future. I have a license as I help my children fish in our lake behind our house, they once or twice a year seem to enjoy it. I do teach them to catch and release ALL that they catch.

I think it's very important to to teach children the safety involved in fishing or hunting. With better guidelines for the young to follow i think as they grow into their future they will learn and understand coexisting with nature and the animals that live there.

    best post yet

This is called ethical hunting (as fishing is also a form of hunting). As opposed to illegal hunting (poaching).

Yes I do know fishing is a form of hunting something I did not very often and NOT very well. In the summers the children try to catch what they can better than I. They still eat meat even though one of them gave it up for 6 months so I gather little by little they may learn there's an alternative to eating meat and the health benifits that ly within.

no it isn't. but those that do are disgusting freak shows.
sure one can kill a deer and mount its head on the wall.
is there a fucking limit or does man have the right to murder everything on earth?

i'd rather see human skins and heads on a wall than critters. why? peopleare cruel and stupid and selfish.

look mommy i murdered hitler and strung the fucker up to butcher him. i will mount his head on the wall.
good for you, little johnny. now go play.

that is better than murdering gorilla for their hands to make ashtrays. who uses a gorilla hand as a ashtray?
ted nugent's friends do that kinda shit. his big game hunting buddies and the like.

Or we could have a decent discussion on hunting, the pros and cons, how it affects us, how "hunters" like Nugent (and I'm not Nugent bashing, just giving a benchmark for some kind of understanding) impact the perception of hunters in general, does the law do enough to prevent poaching and more without being patronised, without trolling or baiting, etc. There are lots to talk about and even without a certain person, we did have posters coming from different angles.
    Once again, thank you.

This is far from an un-emotional subject, and I for one really appreciate this type of level-headedness and desire for constructive discussion.

Parts of this thread make I feel like I'm in some bizarro-world-AMT.

The thing is, one can fish for sport and still be ethical (ie catching the fish and releasing it). Even if you want to catch the biggest and baddest one, you can without killing it (take a photo as a 'trophy' before releasing it). It's a bit more difficult with a 'furry' animal hunt!

Eating farmed meat is open to debate but should you do so, it's important to source your meat properly (ie knowing where it comes from, now it was cared for and slaughtered). Part of a balanced diet, it's not bad for you. Eating red meat at every meal, every day is certain death!

I was confused because another posted lead me to believe a Trophy Hunt was illegal
it was exactly what I thought it was after my own investigation.

So you are ok then with legal hunting and if Ted's very minor discretion is the end
of his bad behavior you can then give him props... yes? that would be forgiving.

Oh please, now Ted's discretion is MINOR give me a break. you should become his defense lawyer you would do a great job for him. Is it so hard to say what he has admitted to is absolutely wrong and a fricking crime that most of us would not do? Well is it Pandora. My lord!
