Ridiculously jealous.
Hopefully Brian Fallon can convince Matt to get these guys to open up for Pearl Jam
yes please.
Soundgarden are playing Milan, it's on a Monday so I'd have to skip uni, and it's in a venue with lousy accoustics, but it has Soundgarden, Gaslight and Refused...don't think I'll be able to resist.0 -
You shouldn't resist Soundgarden and Refused!Wembley 2000 • Reading 2006 • Paris 2006 • Wembley 2007 • Shepherds Bush 2009 • Manchester 2009 • O2 Arena 2009 • Hyde Park 2010 • Arras 2010 • Manchester 2012 • Manchester II 2012 • Leeds 2014 • Milton Keynes 2014 • Amsterdam 2018 • Amsterdam II 2018 • London 2018 • London II 2018 • Hyde Park II 2022

Yeah I'm quite surprised to be honest. As much as I love them, are Soundgarden really big enough over here to headline?0 -

Hmm hard to say, oh well I'm not complaining, don't need to go to shitty Download now as it doesn't look like Bill Ward is gonna be playing.0 -
The sound at HRC is crap.Wembley 2000 • Reading 2006 • Paris 2006 • Wembley 2007 • Shepherds Bush 2009 • Manchester 2009 • O2 Arena 2009 • Hyde Park 2010 • Arras 2010 • Manchester 2012 • Manchester II 2012 • Leeds 2014 • Milton Keynes 2014 • Amsterdam 2018 • Amsterdam II 2018 • London 2018 • London II 2018 • Hyde Park II 2022

Strange one that, they really aren't big enough to headline something like this over here. Still I'm not complaining, not as if I'm going to turn it down!0
-
They are headlining it, so the organisers must think they are big enough.
I won't go to that festival again. Went in 2006 and 2010 and thought the sound was a joke both times. Way too quiet.Wembley 2000 • Reading 2006 • Paris 2006 • Wembley 2007 • Shepherds Bush 2009 • Manchester 2009 • O2 Arena 2009 • Hyde Park 2010 • Arras 2010 • Manchester 2012 • Manchester II 2012 • Leeds 2014 • Milton Keynes 2014 • Amsterdam 2018 • Amsterdam II 2018 • London 2018 • London II 2018 • Hyde Park II 2022

Not that bad when I've been there in the past, I guess it depends where you stand.0 -
We moved around and stood all over the place and it was shite all over.
Really don't rate it. Download has much better sound and a better lineup, so I would head there if I wanted to see them at a festival. Which I obviously do not.Wembley 2000 • Reading 2006 • Paris 2006 • Wembley 2007 • Shepherds Bush 2009 • Manchester 2009 • O2 Arena 2009 • Hyde Park 2010 • Arras 2010 • Manchester 2012 • Manchester II 2012 • Leeds 2014 • Milton Keynes 2014 • Amsterdam 2018 • Amsterdam II 2018 • London 2018 • London II 2018 • Hyde Park II 2022

Pretty sure they'll get a much longer slot at HRC than at Download.0 -
I expect they will, yes, but they will also get a much better sound at a much better festival.
Either way, I am not going to either.Wembley 2000 • Reading 2006 • Paris 2006 • Wembley 2007 • Shepherds Bush 2009 • Manchester 2009 • O2 Arena 2009 • Hyde Park 2010 • Arras 2010 • Manchester 2012 • Manchester II 2012 • Leeds 2014 • Milton Keynes 2014 • Amsterdam 2018 • Amsterdam II 2018 • London 2018 • London II 2018 • Hyde Park II 2022

I dunno, I've heard much worse, but it's all personal perception. Download is certainly louder, probably because it's more isolated.
I don't think anyone is arguing that an indoor venue wouldn't be better......0 -
No, there is no argument on that.
They will probably get around ten more songs at Hard Rock Calling than Download going by Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots slots in 2010 at each festival. They are more akin to STP in terms of repetitive setlists and generosity to their fans though, so I reckon they will do around 20-22 songs at HRC and 15 at the most at Download.
As I said though, indoor gig only for me. Not paying rip off festival prices for crap lineups.Wembley 2000 • Reading 2006 • Paris 2006 • Wembley 2007 • Shepherds Bush 2009 • Manchester 2009 • O2 Arena 2009 • Hyde Park 2010 • Arras 2010 • Manchester 2012 • Manchester II 2012 • Leeds 2014 • Milton Keynes 2014 • Amsterdam 2018 • Amsterdam II 2018 • London 2018 • London II 2018 • Hyde Park II 2022

I'll be interested to see who else they get on the lineup, I know Iggy and the Stooges is one of them, and some other band I've never heard of.0
-
I was hoping for PJ & Ben Harper but maybe Ben Harper can play with SG. Ben is doing a bunch of European dates so wondered where he would fit in for Europe..he deserves to headline himself though.0
-
This tour is a joke.Wembley 2000 • Reading 2006 • Paris 2006 • Wembley 2007 • Shepherds Bush 2009 • Manchester 2009 • O2 Arena 2009 • Hyde Park 2010 • Arras 2010 • Manchester 2012 • Manchester II 2012 • Leeds 2014 • Milton Keynes 2014 • Amsterdam 2018 • Amsterdam II 2018 • London 2018 • London II 2018 • Hyde Park II 2022

The price for a Soundgarden HRC ticket is £55.75 incl fees (plus postage) so the same as an Ed solo ticket for a full day of music. I don't find that a rip off.
Ah well I've enjoyed previous trips to HRC and am sure I'll enjoy this one tooSo are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?0
