Great quality boot for a 78 show. Is this the same version you have?

pretty sure... the one I have is from an FM broadcast, bootlegged by Crystal Cat. Prove It was never better than on the 78 tour, with the extended guitar intro by Bruce... great stuff!

Here's some video from Phoenix 78. I think I'm going to obsessed with 1978 shows for a while.

Who else thinks that We Are Alive would be a great song for Eddie to cover on his upcoming solo tour? It has a real Eddie sound that I think fits well with the rest of his repetoire.

In terms of consistent greatness, has there been another tour by any band that's on a par with it? The only one I can think of is the Dead's Europe 72 run.

If you really want to obsess about the '78 tour, and I think it's a very good thing to do, then you might want to grab a copy of this book:

invaluable Bruce boot resource -- use it well!

    Say, thanks for this link!

Just yesterday, I went to my old source for Springsteen bootlegs (been collecting them forever) and it was GONE. I was surprised, cus it had been there for a very long time - downloaded a lot of shows from there...although I'd not been there in about a year.

It's so cool that these days, you can get so many shows on the net. Jeez...I remember the days when getting ahold of a copy of Passaic 78 (just the audio!) was about everyone's Holy Grail...and getting the video??? An impossible dream! Shoot, even guys like Dave Marsh have stated on E Street Radio that it took him a long while to get a copy of that video. And one would be hard pressed to find someone more connected when it comes to Springsteen than Dave Marsh.

Now...pretty much anyone can download what for people like me were shows we would spend months/years trying to get ahold of! It's a wonderful thing!

I only hope new Springsteen fans appreciate what they have available to them. Because yeah....back in the day, this stuff was not easy to come by at all. Any new fans who download the video of Passaic 78: it may be grainy...but just know that you are watching something that has historical significance. Not only because it's perhaps the best set Springsteen ever played...but because for many of us older fans, getting ahold of the video of this show was like the equivalent of obtaining a Benny on vinyl. We wanted it more than we wanted to...like, breathe.

Anyway, thanks again for the link. Much appreciated!

I can only speak for Tampa, but it said 730 on the ticket, and the band came on at about 815. Was worth the wait. One of the best concerts we've ever been to! Now hoping for some upper mid-west shows later this summer or fall!

Had it in heavy rotation last week! I've been on a huge Springsteen kick again since the new album came out.

And it looks like Springsteen is playing my backyard August 26, literally! Moncton outdoor show, 70,000+, and pretty well in my backyard. MSG 1 and Moncton this year; not bad!

Saw the show in Boston last night. It was amazing. Third time I have seen them live and they never disappoint. I could absolutely go on tour with them. Probably one of the best shows I have ever seen. Came on at 8:15 played for almost three hours. I had GA floor tickets, but couldn't make it down from Maine in time for the wrist band lottery so I ended up behind the barrier. However, Bruce made his way through the crowd and ended up within 10 feet of me, then crowd surfed back to the stage. Unreal!

Where did you see the fall tour dates? His site and pollstar only go up to the end of July.

Dates aren't out, juts a local rumour that's more or less confirmed.
