For the Boss pros, is his show from September 30, 1985, one of his most famous and best shows? I see it represented well on the "Live/1975-85" album.

The Live 1975-85 album is one of the great what could have beens, fair few overdubs and such like and some editing (the Backstreets in particular is missing the whole middle "Sad Eyes" section). I'm not a huge fan of the Born In The USA tour, I have the Where The Rivers Meet boot from 1984 which is pretty good.

The Stone Pony London forum had a huge discussion about the must-have's from each tour. Check it:

Edit to add: 9/30/85 is one of the shows listed :)

would have loved to see Springsteen on that tour but tix sold out in 5 minutes, and my computer conection froze. Dammit. Other friends of ours went, and told us it was great. There was only a 2 ticket limit per person. When the connection timed out grrrrrrrrrrr. Got back in, and they were sold out :(

I pulled 6th row center for that tour at the Verizon in Grand Prairie. I didn't live in Dallas at that time though, I was still in South Texas about 8.5 hours away and had some exams that I could not miss. Had to miss the show instead.

yeah, I was living in Denton attending school at North Texas. Grande Prarie is a beautiful venue. Saw The Moody Blues there. Not a bad seat in the the house. Pretty sure my friend might have that Bruce boot, I'll have to check with him. If it had been a 4 ticket limit, we would have been covered (like normally it's between 4-8 most shows). With this being a Bruce acoustic/ solo tour we knew we were screwed.

they've got a couple different SXSW boots and one for Atlanta... not seeing a Greensboro 2012 yet

invaluable Bruce boot resource -- use it well!

The Paris 85 DVD that has been discussed in the last couple of pages is nice if you're into BITUSA era shows... my faves are the grainy early-era VHS recordings of the Passaic 1978 shows. LIVE in NYC is awesome, too, but thats available at music stores -- an official release. The Darkness and River shows are widely considered his best ever, though... and listening to the boots -- my god -- how can anyone argue that those weren't some of the greatest concerts ever performed. Check out Winterland 78, Passaic 78, Agora 78 and Meadowlands 80 (new years eve 4+ hour show).

    Sick.

oh... don't kill your ratio downloading any of the shows I suggested... if you want one just pm me and I'll mail you some discs for free. i've got a killer ratio over there and would suggest that new folks at jungleland download only the newest boots and get seeding to get their ratios in a range where downloading older (i.e. less "hot") shows won't hurt you going forward -- I learned that quick a few years ago!
