I think a lot of people could agree that Wrigley is a dump. However, it was not dumpy enough to stop Billy Joel, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews or Roger Waters from playing there. And, as a big Cubs fan, I think Eddie would give his left arm to play Wrigley, or at least care about it more than those named above.
Wrigley is worse only because it has not been updated the way Fenway has since the current owners bought the team. Wrigley today reminds me of what Fenway looked like when I was a kid.
That said, hope both places get a show.

Throw another 5,000 fans on the field for a concert......
42,000 or so???
Pearl Jam couldnt sell out Wrigley.....
you'd be taking seats out behind the stage depending on how stage is setup, usually in center field for basebasll stadiums. for Wrigley probably all bleachers in the outfields would be empty so you are back to around 37,000 which is do-able. and id be 90% more likely to hit up Wrigley than the woods of Wisconsin
You can try and talk yourselves into anything. They are not going to play there. The place is a dump anyway I don't care how historic it is. Imagine the line in at their 4 troughs in that stadium.
Those troughs get poeple in and out quick. You wanna talk a shit bathroom set up....talk soilder field
Here's the thing - Roger Waters just announced a 2nd date at Yankee stadium...in all likelihood he'll be doing that at Wrigley too. That takes up their allotment of 2 concerts per season. So can this talk of PJ at Wrigley in 2012 stop now please?!

As I said before, I dont PJ will be playing there this year, but maybe Eddie solo as an opener for Bruce Springsteen. Matt Cameron might be there as well as he was the drummer on Bruce's new album.
You will forget the Alpine situation when you see the Wrigley situation, unless you like troughs.
you are confused.
wrigley is miles ahead of alpine. alpine you have to climb a hill...to wait in line to use a port a potty....
wrigly, you are in and out in the amount of time it takes you to pee.
viva le trough
Wrigley isn't miles ahead of anything. If you think you are going to walk in and walk out at Wrigley you are sadly mistaken. It may happen like that at a half filled baseball game but it wouldn't here. Those bathrooms at Wrigley are smaller than my bedroom.

Half-filled baseball game? Have you ever actually been there? The troughs are fine as long as you don't have stage fright.

he may know some people... but he doesn't know enough people
nor does he care..... he'd rather see a show in South America then to see one in the venue where he works and has to deal with every ahole fan with an opinion of how he should do his job
the bottom line is... if it's going to make money... and the neighborhood is cool with it... then pearl jam will play fenway and/or wrigley
I actually ran into Theo last summer (his pulled up right next to my car in the big lot accross from Copperfields). He was very cool and it was the day before Ed's show in Boston. I asked him if he was going to the show, and we ended up talking about Ed, PJ and the uke album. At the end of the conversation i asked him when PJ was going to play Fenway. Theo said, "I know, I know...This was actually the first year that the Red Sox approached the band about playing (and had all the approvals), and that they couldn't work it out with the bands schedule". He then said it was an absolute embarrassment that New Kids on the block played Fenway before PJ.
So if they can play Fenway, IMO, they can play Wrigley. I know that the Red Sox are starting to book multiple acts in one year, so I would say that they are closer to playing Fenway than Wrigley. However, I do not know the music situation at Wrigley with hosting concerts, so that is a guess on my part. If they do play Wrigley, I will be taking a road trip for sure!
Wrigley bathrooms aren't classy but I could care less how fancy a toilet is...I'd be going to watch a game/concert. PJ could sell out Wrigley with an decent opener...I can see them doin it
Which bands out there could sell out these stadiums?
Wrigley isn't as big as most people think of when talking a stadium tour so for a one off it's hard to say, but some bands that could do stadium tours......
U2, Stones, The Boss, AC/DC, McCartney, Metallica
What's the general reaction to droppin a deuce in the troughs?

They are both dumps, but Wrigley is definitely worse.
cmon... really??
i've been to both... but booze and age prevent me from remebering the dumpy side of wrigley?
plus trying to navigate to the seats from the top of the slippery lawn in the dark is still fresh in my mind..
nevermind the pisser situation
That said, hope both places get a show.

It's not even the trough thing...it's the lack of bathrooms. You have to walk what seems like a mile to get to the bathroom from most seats.
This would be incredible!! Dare to dream...
I am all for that! Love the Metro.
