I think you're right. Just curious, which holds more, Wrigley or Alpine? I'm assuming Wrigley by far and Alpine didn't even sellout either night

Not like you have to sell it out to have a show there. This would be Eddie's dream and I think he would sacrifice a little money in order to play there.

Alpine holds a lot but at the top of the lawn you can barely see the stage. There would be more seats with an average view rather than a poor view.

PJ will play Wrigley this year or next..

I think alpine was around 37K. Wrigley could definitely hold more than that for a concert. I don't see it happening.

    Also...what a terrible thread title.

Wrigley holds much more than Alpine. Pearl Jam are closer to being a small venue band than they are a stadium band

    you poor chicago people

us bostonians went through this shit for 10 years

theo runs the baseball team that plays in wrigley

    he does not run wrigley

he may know some people... but he doesn't know enough people

nor does he care..... he'd rather see a show in South America then to see one in the venue where he works and has to deal with every ahole fan with an opinion of how he should do his job

the bottom line is... if it's going to make money... and the neighborhood is cool with it... then pearl jam will play fenway and/or wrigley

Ed's got to be getting pretty good at this baseball playing, this is like his fourth or fifth year of fantasy camp.

Lucky bastard, I would love to do that, and I'm a woman.

Not happening. They couldn't sell it out.

PJ plays plenty of places that they don't sell out.

41,159 is current capacity and they could pull in a crowd big enough to suit having a show there.

I dont think they are interested in having any concerts at Wrigley that won't sell out.

I'm not saying PJ will play there, but let's not act like it's some pipe dream. I agree that the schedulers are Wrigley are probably lookin for a name with more clout but I also think there's probably at least a little hope for the fans that want it to happen. They got 37k at Alpine for 2 nights on Labor Day weekend so I don't think it's that farfetched.

you'd be taking seats out behind the stage depending on how stage is setup, usually in center field for basebasll stadiums. for Wrigley probably all bleachers in the outfields would be empty so you are back to around 37,000 which is do-able. and id be 90% more likely to hit up Wrigley than the woods of Wisconsin

Instead of Wrigley, what if they just went across the street and played a gig at the Metro!

I think they could sell it out or come very close. There are a lot of PJ fans that will obviously buy tickets. However, its also a lot easier to get a casual fan to go to the show when its right in the middle of the city in a fun part of town. I live in Chicago and I honestly think a lot of bands could sell out Wrigley because people want to go for the experience.

On a side note, here is my prediction: Eddie opening for Bruce when he plays Wrigley in September.

You can try and talk yourselves into anything. They are not going to play there. The place is a dump anyway I don't care how historic it is. Imagine the line in at their 4 troughs in that stadium.
