Dear Usamamasan,
Welcome to politics 101. Here is why this won't work. 1) You have two candidates who when on a national ticket, might not even carry their own state (which happen to be 2 of the bluest in the nation). NJ COULD go Republican in 2012 if Christie is on the ballot, but it'd still be tough. 2) You have two VERY moderate individuals who in many other states would be Democrats. 3) Where's the appeal to the southern conservative base? Republicans bringing two candiates from the northeast of the country is unheard of. Putting these two together on a ticket only opens the door for a third party to come in, draw support from the Republican ticket in the south, put more states in play for the Democrats, and actually make a win impossible to miss for the President.
These are just a few reasons why this wouldn't work. But hey, I'm all for another four years of President Obama, so bring it on.
Happy Holidays,

I'm just curious why you capitalized the whole word American. Are the other candidates less American?0

I actually like Christie's views re: Freedom of religion. Something a lot of the other Republicans can learn a lot from.Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Romney: Elect Me, You’ll Get a Job; Elect Obama, You Won’t
Strong!
And back in November. “If we re-elect Barack Obama, Iran will have a nuclear weapon,” Romney said during a debate on foreign policy sponsored by CBS News and National Journal. “If you elect me as president, Iran will not have a nuclear weapon.”

I really wish Romney would say that. It would be, without any doubt, the DUMBEST statement any cadidate has ever made. Ever.
**EDIT**
Holy shit. He really did say that. What an absolute goon of a statement to make.0 -
Makes sense to me.
And thanks for catching up. 101 is over

Yes, you posting an article clearly shows an understanding of the innerworkings of politics...let alone national politics. Maybe we should have started off with an introduction class instead of a 1010

Let's deport Obamas uncle first, shall we?
I agree with Mitt on this one too!

Tell you what, I've made my points as to why I disagree that it would be a strong ticket for the Republicans. You tell me how it WOULD be. How does this ticket win over the south, keep a third party candidate out, and please the Tea Party and religious wings of the party?0 -
Mitts the shit!

If he's here and he shouldn't be, yeah. No problem. If that's an actual issue to you when it comes to an election though, wow.0 -

Following the laws of the land is "HUGE" when it is something you agree with. I'm sure it means nothing that Osama Bin Laden's family was in the United States while other President's were in office. I mean, they're family members of enemy #1.0 -

Mitt Romney's had another good week. Prediction market data from Betfair and Intrade indicates that the presidential hopeful has a nearly 70 percent likelihood to win the Republican nomination.
If Romney chose Christie it would energize the ticket FO SHO!
