If Mitt becomes President (God forbid), he's going to be fattening his wallet and his corporate buddies' wallets even more. He does not give a shit about the middle class and poor.

"We are fighting for the America we love...and the America that has a military so powerful no one would think of challenging it"

    MITT

    WOOT
And how does he plan to pay for this powerful military so "no one would think of challenging it"?

I believe Eisenhower said it best:
Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some fifty miles of concrete pavement. We pay for a single fighter plane with a half million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people. This is, I repeat, the best way of life to be found on the road the world has been taking. This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron. ... Is there no other way the world may live?

    And one more from Ike:
we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex.

quotes are neat. I have some too.

"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and success of liberty."

    President John F. Kennedy

"There is only one tactical principle which is not subject to change. It is to use the means at hand to inflict the maximum amount of wound, death and destruction on the enemy in the minimum amount of time."

    General George Patton

"It is fatal to enter a war without the will to win it."

    General Douglas MacArthur

"The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."

    President Thomas Jefferson

"There are some who've forgotten why we have a military. It's not to promote war, it's to be prepared for peace."

    President Ronald Reagan

"To be prepared for war is one of the most effective means of preserving peace."

    General George Washington

    ummmmm

where in the constitution is there the clause for a permanent standing army???

i thought the founding fathers did not want a standing federal army???

funny how the republicans are pouncing on obama today about declaring an end date to fighting in afghanistan. what do they want to do if/when they take over, continue it??? how will the tea party reconcile cutting costs everywhere else except for the military while being against any tax increases at all??

    they can't...

    the hypocracy knows no bounds...

i swear, the gop will attack basic common sense shit these days...

quotes are neat...But you need to apply logic and critical thinking to your quotes.

Having a strong military is a great deterrent against some threats, I agree. But this kind of spending on military is either criminal or a sign that your country is full of paranoid cowards. I mean really, 687 billion?? If you spend that much already and still feel you need to spend more to feel secure, I have to tell you that you sound like a chicken. Bock bock
  • Hell, Mitt Romney called himself stupid. Basically, when he denied President Obama on every turn in the very same healthcare plan passed in his own state of Massachusetts as Govenor! ! ! ! MITT touted on the very same plan as a success. Flip flopping and hypocracy abounds.

"And this President wakes up every morning, looks out across America and is proud to announce, 'It could be worse.' It could be worse? Is that what it means to be an American? It could be worse? Of course not. What defines us as Americans is our unwavering conviction that we know it must be better. "

do you think romney actually tied him up there himself or did he make Jeeves do it for him?

  • Usaman aren't you the same guy who was jumping up and down saying that America needed a brain fart like Rick Perry like 8 weeks ago?

And saying "woot" thinking it made you look like something other than a doughy 12 year-old in his basement trash taking people on a video game?

You realize you've proven to us all that you have VERY bad judgement in choosing a leader, right?

i think whoever had any momentum at the time was going to start the next american century...

if i recall correctly, it was, in order...

    trump
    perry, who had better hair
    cain
    newt
    romney

that covers all of them except for paul and santorum, and bachmann and huntsman of course who dropped out...and christie who never dove in...

this is like me trying to figure out my favorite pearl jam song.. it changes every day...

I dont know but does this sound like a man with any common sense? Only thing he maybe have done right is having Jeeves tie the dog to the car and THEN having him clean up the poop after the ride was over.

and then in a cruel twist of fate, Jeeves was sumarily let go, because romney likes to be able to fire people who do work for him...

I support the message of the "one term fund"

Obama should be held accountable for not winning.

"This president began his presidency by apologizing for America," Romney said. "He should now be apologizing to America."
Romney addressed Obama directly when he blamed the president for 36 consecutive months of unemployment above 8 percent--"the red line your own administration drew."
"I will not just slow the growth of government. I will cut it," Romney said. "I will not just freeze the government's share of the economy. I will reduce it."

    WOOT!

Romney wants to double the work force by paying everyone half their current wage.

    She's said as much himself.

    No thanks.
