  • whats so hard about management contacting other major bands to find out how they run they're presales to avoid these problems? The internet age has been around for quite a while. These problems should not be happening and should have been solved long ago. Wasting peoples lives over this.

Just got of the phone with Crowdsurge (again):

    - they're aware of the fact general sale is tomorrow morning so they will do anything to restart the ticket sale tonight

    - we should be getting an e-mail within an hour or so, as soon as they had approval from the ten club

Hope they have better luck getting info out of 10C than we do.

How often do we hear people who can't affort to, or aren't able to, travel to shows plead for Pearl Jam to play in their neck of the woods? Imagine you were one of those people and when your chance to see the band you love play in your home town finally comes, you can't go because people who can afford to, or are able to fly all over the world to see them at will snapped up all the tickets quicker. Why would the band bother flying to these places if not to give the people who live there their chance? Otherwise, they may as well hole up in Vegas like Elvis.

I think geographical preference, at least at the beginning of a pre-sale is much more equitable.
This system doesn't account for people who live in places they NEVER play, so they save up good money for a bloody long time to be in a position to travel, otherwise they're just never gonna get this opportunity.

Waking up today I notice my anger has slowly turned to disappointment. I am deeply disappointed with how the fan club constantly finds ways to mess things up, and it is even worse that they go into hiding when the fans needs them the most! What kind of fan club is this?

Kat doesnt want hurtful comments directed at the fan club but guess what.. what comes around goes around. Your actions and lack of presence is unexcusable. It is the club and the clubs actions that is the root to this evil. Crowdsurge has its blame too no doubt, but for us fans it is the TEN CLUB that is/should be the point of contact, no matter how much ten club chooses to outsource.

The post under says it best!
My membership elapses in April. Right now I dont see myself renewing.. I will always support the band and the music, but I dont want to support the 10c unless they shape up and return to be a fan club for the fans and are able to involve themselves with us. All too often they are invisible when I need them the most.

Amateur hour. If most people did their jobs this poorly, they wouldn't have jobs. The complete lack of information only underscores that someone is simply not doing their job. A simple post, even one saying, "Hang in there, we're figuring things out right now and will have information to you in X number of hours" is not too much to ask. Thousands of PJs true fans rearranged schedules, put off important tasks, saved up money, put aside family and other important obligations because they care so much about this band. Is it too much to ask that the band (or more importantly, those behind the scenes) actually care even just a little in return?

You want to run the band like a business and nickel and dime the fans for every little trinket and overpriced hoodie and pair of socks, fine. But if you're going to run this band like a corporate business then you're going to have to start acting like one. That means accountability, that means your "customers" are always right, that means you serve those who keep you in business. Corporations that don't do that cease to be solvent and eventually cease to exist.

The sheer ego behind all of this is staggering. It's insulting. It's like, "We're so big and so awesome that we can do whatever we want, treat our fans however we want. If they don't like it, there's plenty more in line right behind 'em, so who cares what you think or how long you have to wait or how much you have to pay. If you don't like it, too bad for you." This is an amateur operation, run by amateurs who don't have clue one what they're doing. It's all ego, no delivery. I'm truly and honestly disgusted.

You can't even keep your own web site running properly with a mere few hundred fans logged on. Are you kidding me? Is this the 1995 version of the Internet or something?

Also a fair point. But I'm not saying all tickets go to local fans. There's clearly two schools of thought on this and they both have their merits, it seems. I don't think it's going to apply to this sale, in any case.

I'd just like an update from Pearl Jam Inc. I don't think it's too much to ask for. Tickets went on sale 24 hours ago. And failed about 22 hours ago. It really shouldn't take this long for some/more communication from here.

A copy & paste message taken from Crowdsurge and a 'ticketing issue' thread is just lame. Jack Bauer can save the world in that time :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Totally agree with these 2 gentlemen.

5 days tour notice or something. Right before x-mas. First i have to get cash and re-arrange purchases. Then i have to take a cab home with a dog that bleeds from both paws cos pre-sale begins. (i thought it would be like 15 minutes) THEN i sit here pressing checkout for nearly 4 hours, AND then i could go to the vet... and with no information i was sitting there concerned about maybe id get left behind. When really i should be thinking of my dog. I'm surely gonna think twice before letting ten club control me like that....and lol.. yet here i am again 24 hours later... skipped my master craftsman school cos ive heard roumors that theyd be out late afternoon....

I hate when people challenges my love for things and kicks me in the ass afterwards.

Now i feel bad cos of my dog and still have no tickets.

My membership is gonna expire aswell.

*My post is not from a HOT head. Its a natural reaction. Like it or not 10c"

When relationships treat you bad, you are smart to leave arent you? Whats communication good for anyways....
If it's a good cause, I'll play just about anything.

IMO, this would be the best way to handle the tickets sales. And I mentioned this after the PJ20 Alpine fiasco.
    viewtopic.php?f=4&t=157851

I said this before, they should sell tickets, even if its just for high demand shows, in several blocks going by fan club #. Everyone will still get an equal chance. This suggestion DOES NOT MEAN if you ave a low number you have an advantage.

Say, just for even numbers, there are 400,000 members. Well then have 4 different mini tickets sales for a high demand show. You can start off by selling 1,500 tickets or 750 pairs per block.

    Block 1 Fan Club #'s 1-99,999

    Block 2 #'s 100,000-199,999

    Block 3 #'s 200,000-299,999

    Block 4 #'s 300,000- etc

Each block gets, say 1,500 tickets (just saying for an equal number)
So 4 blocks of 1,500 = 6,000 fan club tickets and everyone still gets an equal shot at tickets. The way they give out the seats when you pick them up doesnt change. But this prevents EVERY SINGLE fan club member from hitting the site at the same time.

And whatever tickets dont sell in a certain blocks on sale, maybe those can then be divided and then added to the other remaing blocks. And if all the seats dont sell after the 4 small tickets sales, then you can do one final one where anybody can purchase tickets.

    LOAD BALANCING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Block 4 #'s 300,000-399,999

This assumes an equal distribution in those ranges, which is likely not the case. there are probably more people in the 300k+ range than the 1-99.999K range.
