I really wish the Ten Club would follow the ticket distribution model followed by the Dave Matthews Band. Give fan club members a week to request tickets. Randomly select among those who requested to get the tickets.
Servers don't crash. People don't need to access a web site at a specific time. No need to spend an hour of more refreshing screens. No shopping cart problems. No stress.
Ten Club - please consider this model. It works!
+1 I think this is the only fair way for ALL 10club members to have a chance. And I'm saying this even though it will probably hurt my chances at getting tickets but isn't the philosophy of the band and the fan club is that we're all equal? This would give people who can't be on a computer during the presale a shot at tickets and also not waste everybody's time hitting F5 all day. I'd rather see an online version of the "index card" type system put in place and also limit the number of shows people can buy tickets to. Still not an ideal solution but I think it's better than the current one.
My guess is they're going to go with Ticketmaster password presales.
Thank you. This is the only way that ensures every member has the same chance at getting tickets to a given show. How anyone can have a problem with this is beyond me.

i didn't see anyone but pearl jam while i was in wisconsin... why would i want their performance on vinyl?
pearl jam can make it up to us by getting a ticketing system that works
and when they find a new ticketing system... stress test it before rolling it out to anyone...
i'm sure crowdsurge said they would be fine... should have had them put up a monetary guarantee...
or... perform a test of your own... do a free lottery where everyone that enters will have the chance to win a signed benaroya hall ... 10c members would need to log in and check out within a 15 minute window... tell me that's not a real life stress test?

i would love to see this thread stay open for a week so everyone can log their complaints. then see 10C print up the entire thread and present it to the band.

I would like add this to the wishlist before next pre-sale:

Clearly, the new system is broken and slow. However, we need to get through the Canada on-sale tomorrow. Once we get through that, we will IMMEDIATELY begin building a new, state-of-the-art system to avoid ever putting you through the pain-in-the-ass-ness of yesterday.
That's our promise to you.

That was from six months ago. This time around they outsourced the ticketing to a company that was unprepared for the traffic. Now they've maintained radio silence instead of issuing any sort of statement or apology. Thanks TC for working so hard on this and keeping your promise.
Big Picture: The number of 10c members wanting tickets to most shows far outweighs the number of 10c tickets available.
As TIm has stated before, 10c can not control how many 10c seats they get for each show. The only solution is to go to the DMB model that someone stated earlier, or something similar. So many of us have spent so many hours of work time, etc trying to get tickets. A perfect example is the 4 Phili 2009 shows. If everyone was allowed to only purchase 10c tix to 1 of the shows there would have been alot more happy people.
Things were much calmer when everyone used to mail their 10c ticket requests into the 10c. Surely, a similar process can happen with people sending in their requests through the website, etc.
For everone trying to get Europe tickets...good luck.
For 10c....please keep working on refining the process.
For the band...please play lots of US shows in 2012!
Perhaps the reason there has been "no communication" from the 10c (besides the fact that it is still 6:30AM over in seattle ... der dee der) is the fact that the 10C is waiting on both
a. a complete diagnostic from Crowdsurge on WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS

Tickets went on sale around noon, Seattle time, right?
So they had 5 business hours left to figure things out before CROWDSURGE employees went home?
They will probably need until around noon today to get shit straight as well.

Given that the discussion is already raging elsewhere on the board, I actually find it a little rude to expect people to repeat themselves on a separate thread. The posting of this thread in and of itself is somewhat of an empty gesture. Chipping in and conversing on the existing threads seems like a far better way to appease the complaining parties. But then, that would require effort on TC's part.

You would have had zero people traveling from all over the world as no one would only buy one pair for one night and make that trip with the hopes of securing the other 3 nights from other outlets...with worse seating allocation.
What you would have had would have been a bunch of fans from the immediate area buying one pair, and at least 2 nights of shows, probably 28th and 30th that wouldn't have even been sold out as casual fan's won't buy 4 nights worth of tickets and hardcore fans (fan club members) are too elitist to sit in public seating for 3 of their 4 shows.
You would have seen many more unhappy people, IMO.

Tiered ordering based on seniority with a pay by date or you lose your seats. For example:
10C members 0-99,999 tickets must be pre-paid by 12/13/2011
100,000-150,000 tickets must be pre-paid by 12/14/2011
and so on
If you don't pay by your prepaid date you lose your 'seniority' seats' but still have the option of 10c seats from what is left after all 10C members have had the chance to buy their tickets.
I was lucky enough to secure tickets to the shows I wanted yesterday but as you are no doubt aware many Pearl Jam fans didn't and are very angry. I propose the following as a fair and equitable soultion:

Can I have the tickets that were in my basket last night, I only wanted 2 shows, but would be willing to sacrifice 1 pair on a guarantee of having 1 show?

This, and Philly 1 did not even sell out thorugh 10c if I rememeber. Philly 4 was up for a few hours. Not every show has high demand like the Northeast. Most of the 2010 US shows did not even sell out their 10c allotment. Everyone alays forgets that. Even the Chicago shows in 09 were up for hours.

...got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...
Once again: like most of us, i had tickets in my cart like 3 times. Once i got to the checkout it wouldnt let me pay, it said i had an emty cart. I had 2 items in there! First it crashed, then they expired.
I would like my 10c PJ tickets for some Euro shows, just like everyone else, please.
No communication from 10c is not really helping. Shoudla been on top of this LAST NIGHT!
Trying to give some more or less constructive feedback:
In my opinion it was the worst ticket trying/buying experience. I have bought 10c-tickets for about 10 shows through the last 5 years and got all the tickets I wanted through the old system. Yesterday I wasn't able to get a single ticket in 3 hours.
The crowdsurge site seemed ok from a design point of view (convert to your currency, etc.) - I personally find a queing solution acceptable, even when it takes a while (better than infinite loading without a message like on the "old" ticket system).
More problematic were crashes during the queing time (Server errors of different kinds), but what really made it the worst experience where the problems with your cart - when you had tickets in your cart, tried to check out and get to payment and it told you, your cart was empty, while the tickets still showed up in there. I am a professional developer for quite some time now and without knowing the system it seemed to me like a major bug.
As a user it made me feel really helpless - what should I do at that moment? Remove the tickets from the cart again (risking to get them not in there anymore)? waiting for the 15 minutes to pass? try to check out again and again? start all over again only to get back into the queue? Seeing some others score tickets while having this problem (on different machines and different browsers) made me feel it was like a lottery and somehow connected to your user-account and that was the major point making me angry during the sale.
(mostly technical) suggestions would be: better hardware, a stable queue system showing the approximate wait time and I would implement a system that "punishes" refreshing the site (e.g. you loose your place in queue) and also tells that the users. This would significantly reduce the incredible high amount of refreshing by user you must be facing and which I guess as one of the problems that brings the site down...
i took a day off work, had 5 shows in my cart (and not just once), and end up with nothing.
Biggest upset is, that I won´t be able to try again, since i don´t have a computer where i work and won´t be able to do anything.
i think it was a good idea to try something new. It didnt work out, i don´t blame 10c, but a simple mail with any information would have been great.

You would have seen many more unhappy people, IMO.
At this point I need to give you my congratulations...With everything sheet that we are seeing you now make me laugh....
WORSE THAN A BAD ANSWER IS NO ANSWER AT ALL....

I would like my 10c PJ tickets for some Euro shows, just like everyone else, please.
No communication from 10c is not really helping. Shoudla been on top of this LAST NIGHT!
Biggest upset is, that I won´t be able to try again, since i don´t have a computer where i work and won´t be able to do anything.
i think it was a good idea to try something new. It didnt work out, i don´t blame 10c, but a simple mail with any information would have been great.
1. Making tickets available to all shows at the same time through a system that wasn't up to this amount of response
2. No info when it actually went wrong (some people didn't sleep because they were waiting for any news, which didn't come)
Solutions:
1. Spread the ticketsales for the different show, for e.g. "Amsterdam will be on sale at 1 pm, Berlin 2 hours later" etc.
2. Let the fans of the region where the shows will take place have prior chance to buy tickets, as in 2009
3. Give accurate info on the suspending on ticketsales, for e.g. "there will be no sale until 1 pm next day"
