I have been considering getting that Mark Hollis - I keep looking at it in the shop. I love Talk Talk, particularly the Colour of Spring - one of my favourite albums from the 1980s. I'd be interested to hear what the solo album is like.Cancel my subscription to the Ressurection

I almost bought that Mark Hollis solo album yesterday. I had never heard of it before and the first song on it is called The Colour of Spring so it has to be good!E agora? Faz xixi na mão e deita fora!0 -

the copy I looked at had a sticker on with some quotes from reviews I think, saying it was sublime stuff on his part. I'll probably end up giving it a shot. Yeah Colour of Spring has that magic to it....Cancel my subscription to the Ressurection

What a bummer! Just tried to play this and the edges of the record were warped. It played for about half of one side (though it didnt sound so good) then the sound just slowed and it stopped playing. When I checked the needle there was white material hanging from it (the record is white). First, I'm bummed about the record..was really looking forward to it and that's $16 down the drain. Second, is my needle damaged? I don't think so but I'm not 100 percent sure...
I played another (old) record and it sounded okay...no skips at all... so Im either paranoid or it was just a bad pressing of the new one. I read online that a warp shouldnt affect the needle..so I'm hopeful that all is well2003: San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Seattle; 2005: Monterrey; 2006: Chicago 1 & 2, Grand Rapids, Cleveland, Detroit; 2008: West Palm Beach, Tampa; 2009: Austin, LA 3 & 4, San Diego; 2010: Kansas City, St. Louis, Columbus, Indianapolis; 2011: PJ20 1 & 2; 2012: Missoula; 2013: Dallas, Oklahoma City, Seattle; 2014: Tulsa; 2016: Columbia, New York City 1 & 2; 2018: London, Seattle 1 & 2; 2021: Ohana; 2022: Oklahoma City0 -

I think the first two sound the best. There Is Nothing Left To Lose and One By One sound as bad as they did on CD. In Your Honor is decent.0 -
Just curious, are there any current artists that master their vinyl specifically for vinyl rather than just throwing the digital copy on there?2003: San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Seattle; 2005: Monterrey; 2006: Chicago 1 & 2, Grand Rapids, Cleveland, Detroit; 2008: West Palm Beach, Tampa; 2009: Austin, LA 3 & 4, San Diego; 2010: Kansas City, St. Louis, Columbus, Indianapolis; 2011: PJ20 1 & 2; 2012: Missoula; 2013: Dallas, Oklahoma City, Seattle; 2014: Tulsa; 2016: Columbia, New York City 1 & 2; 2018: London, Seattle 1 & 2; 2021: Ohana; 2022: Oklahoma City0

I think Mogwai do.
I think most records have to be mastered differently to be cut on wax.0 -
I picked up a bunch of records from Polyvinyl Records...
Aloha - Some Echoes, Home Acres
Of Montreal - False Priest
Decibully - City of Festivals
Hail Social - Warning Sign
SSLYBY - Let it Sway
Most likely getting the Matt Pond PA collection on vinyl too. I absolutely LOVE that band.0 -
