Well where else would he get 10 million for being a seventh or eighth inning guy? I'm confident he'll be the pitcher he was the second half of the regular season for most of the next two years. but what do i know?

Oh no doubt, was never a question. I think he should be fine assuming he stays healthy.

I guess Boras wants Cano's contract restructured?

    Don't see that happening.

Yeah, saw this yesterday and then saw that he said he was joking. Yankees have him to a pretty good deal over the next two years for one of the best players in the game. It's not going to happen but it could make sense if they could offer him 6 years, doubt he would take that though. That would bring him through 35 rather than giving him 6 years later on which will bring him through 37.

And it sounds like the Yanks are meeting with CC this weekend and both sides are "highly motivated" to work something out. Who knows what that means but it would be great to keep him off the free agent market. Yankees have given him everything he has asked for and from everything he says, he loves playing in NY, hopefully the biggest contract in baseball history for a pitcher will be enough to keep him off the market.

why not? The game is a business and if he can get the Yankees to give him more money, he should.

Or in the original contract just DO NOT give him an opt out option. I guarantee you this IF CC pitched horribly during the first years of the contract the Yankees would glad to see him opt out.
