Something Man, you are correct, but they quickly scrapped that model (Basecamp downloads). There were a couple other "test" shows released as well, which were done right, namely 1/14/95.
However, I think with the Vault #1, they are thinking bigger. Since they said they are working on a new website after the whole ticket debacle this year, hopefully they establish a permanent Vault area where new shows pop up every so often.
The Moore Theater edits suck, but it's not a huge deal. It was a nice treat for those with 10C tickets and I do appreciate it. my bigger concern is that these edits are a sign of things to come. every Vault release that we have seen since 12/31/92 (2006) has been flawed in some way. I know I may be in the minority here, but there is a significant taping/trading/archiving community that cares about this but doesn't speak up here, so I feel like I have to. I dont take all the "stop complaining" abuse for my health. I hope someone hears it and relays it to the band.
Interesting.
What were the other "test" shows they released...other than 1/14/95? I'd like to acquire them if I don't have them already.

Weren't there some problems with that 1/14/95 show? Seems like there were some errors and sound cutting out and hissing in it. Unless the "test" show is different than the one that is circulating through the various bootleg sites.

I agree with alfonsico and the "open the vault" guy
Releasing shows with missing songs is annoying as hell, since we PJ freaks are a bunch of completist motherfu**ers
Can't really understand why they do that, anyway I hope that this Vault thing will include the possibility of buying the actual cd's, other than mp3's and flac's..
ps: alfonsico, I don't know if it's you, but just the other night I was enjoying the multiangle dvd of Limelight 92 (it was made by someone called like you, but I don't know if it's actually you).. I enjoyed it a lot!

there were some beeps inserted into the first two songs, but I believe that was done intentionally, maybe to mark the discs, maybe to distinguish it from an official release that they expected to happen but never did.
amazing show. if anyone hasn't heard it, you should.
I agree with alfonsico and the "open the vault" guy
if you are referring to me, thank you. I have no problem being known as "open the vault" guy and I'm pretty sure that when I introduced myself to Tim and Rob at Alpine that is what the remembered as well.

Okay, I'm completely missing something here. When were these "test" shows put out there? I used to think I was pretty much up on this stuff and then I hear things like this. I actually asked Tim about "the vault" on the very first radio show because I am obsessed with getting the best version of every show.

Yes I am
Last years and deluxe editions has changed something, level of sound compression it's hard. So hard that I feel tired when I hear many of them (something that doesn't happen in 2000 bootlegs, and I'm not talking about setlist, audience feeling ... I'm talking about sound). "Loudness war" it's the key to search in youtube, no problem I assume this thing, but this is the first time that I feel something different, like someone pass through the limit compressing ... and here it's the demostration
I don't care if it's a gift or not, but I'm really complain about that ... a zoom in Breath wave picture it's better that 1000 words.
Note: Sound compression it's not about mp3 or any lossless audio (this would be file compression)
You can see in the video below
Any word yet if this was available in Montreal last night, either to the fan clubbers who picked up tickets or merch booths? I don't want to download it if I can get this when they are in Edmonton, but if it is unavailable then I don't have much choice if I want to hear it.

Where did you get one? I would love to get one but I have nothing to trade. Are there any plans on the 10Club releasing it to the Fans who have been amongst the "unlucky ones", I refer to those shut out of Ten Club Tickets, Limited releases, etc?
I'm not trying to be a whiner, but where do you people get some of these things??
Didn't PJ open "The Vault" a few years back with this...
11/30/93 – Aladdin Theater: Las Vegas, NV [90m]
set: Even Flow, Once, Deep, Jeremy, Dissident, Daughter/(Instant Karma)/(Across the Universe)/(Get Back), Go, Animal, State of Love and Trust, Tremor Christ, Black, Blood, Alive
enc 1: Rearviewmirror, Whipping, Leash, Porch/(Tearing)
enc 2: Swallow My Pride, Jazz Odyssey, Ain’t Nothing to Do, My Way
Anyone remember this concert getting released as a digital download from "The Vault"? I remember downloading it and checking back every so often to see if they had added anything thing else. Then, the website changed completely. Then again...maybe I smoked too much weed and my memory is not correct.
I think this Moore Theatre show should be considered #2. Either way...I want it.
'
Maybe they have a chronology worked out like Neil Young Archives and Moore is the earliest show to be released, therefore called #1?
Weird they don't tell us if and how this will be available to all paying members...

the reason baba is missing is because of technical issues with eds mic, i think. twofeetthick.com has a story about it. awesome story- great site. it's funny i stumbled across this. i was listening to vault #1 earlier today & now am listening to 1/14/95. awesome quality shows! i think both sound great. i deleted the 1st 2 tracks because of the noises hurt my ears. i'm a studio headphone listener, so... anyway, i do hope we see more older releases. so far, we've gotten:
1/17/92
9/20/92
9/26/92
12/31/92- crappy sounding, but free.
11/30/93
4/12/94

1/14/95
oh yeah 4/3/94 from waaayy back. this is turning into a nice list!
self pollution, monkeywrench, soldier field, 3/17/95, 11/3/96, 3/5/98 and a few more radio shows, 2/27/06 aol sessions, letterman 5/4/06, pinkpop 92, the list goes on & on. i really hope that they keep doing this. all of these shows are mainstays in my library that get regular listenings. i'd like to see 4/17/94 or red rocks 6/20/95 or hamburg, ger 11/4/96 as our next ones. that's why it's fun being a pj fan. they b droppin shit like flies!

when did we get 9/26/92? did I miss something? they also released the montana 05 show like they did with the DC 95 show. Speaking of the latter, there is a hybrid of the first two tracks that someone made using the official audio combined with a fan audio to get around the beeps, which works seamlessly if you want to track it down
i don't know when or if 9/26/92 was released here, maybe 06 or 07? i know i've got an official recording that i got somewhere else & it claimed that 10c released it. if you don't have it & want it, i could burn it for you. it's a kick-ass show from honolulu & the sound quality is superb.
p.s. where can i find montana 05? thanks for the 1/14/95 info, but i'm good. it doesn't bother me too badly if a song is missing. i make single cd versions of shows sometimes, so i won't get sick of certain songs they play at EVERY show.

thanks for clearing that up. i was checking out the setlist from 8/29/05 AWESOME! downloading 9/5/00 right now. i bought about 30-40 of the official boots back in 00-01, but was never able to find that one. incredible setlist- WASH that's all i'm saying. it's funny, i've got over 100 shows & am still finding gems in the catalog. it's fun having so many shows, it gives you a plethora of (live) delights to choose from. theskyiscrape.com are doing a remasters series of select sbd shows from the 90's, complete with artwork.

I have all those show's listed above & in many versions (source 1, source 2, mix, etc.. ). Also there has been many upgrades in the trading community with the original DAT's sources transfers > flac which is pretty freaking sweet.
The mp3's are pretty much available over @ pearljambootlegs.org. But for SHN / Flacs copies, there are still many active torrent sites out there for download. If you don't mind an old school B+P (blank + postage), I can hook you up with a Data DVDR (2 discs or 3 I believe?) for these show's listed above.
