so for all of you east-coasters who said the snow was worth living with because you didn't get earthquakes ....
Greetings from Beautiful So California!
Maybe it's time to rethink all that brickwork - doesn't do well in quakes.

i can deal with a little earth quake once every 30 years or so
I was down in Annapolis today (approx 30 miles east of DC). I was at a hotel for some product training when the quake hit. Was walking past the elevator bay on my way to take a leak and everything started shaking. I didn't think anything of it...thought something was wrong with the elevators. The chandelier in the lobby looked like it was gonna come down. Then I got into the bathroom and it sounded like all the toilets were going to explode. Guy I work with was in the lobby...he said I was walking along like nothing was going on and everyone else was running out of the building like it was on fire. I thought it was pretty cool.
For those on the west coast, you guys have no room to talk. I remember being in california when it rained 3 days in a row. It was the first story on the news every night. HIlarious watching people run from their cars into stores like someone was shooting at them. It's only rain people, it's not gonna hurt you
my daughters dog ran away again when I went to let them out
little stinker.. Miss Dottie the Chihuahua Jack Russell mix ... born to run
I spent 2 hours hunting her down
I was so upset I wouldn't even have noticed an earthquake!
Thank God she is ok.... thank you thank you thank you
the wife said my dog peed on our steps. guess she was pretty freaked out. poor pooch...
oh I'm sorry .. now that you mention it Lucy and Maddie seemed upset when I got home
I thought cause I was gone longer than usual ... I didn't find out about the quake til later
I wonder if that is why Miss Dottie ran away.... :?
Dogs are so keen ... probably very upsetting for them
I work 2 blocks from the White House, and the top floors of the building are rented out by the secret service. I've been through earthquakes in Seattle, but this was longer, and I didn't know what it was. I just hid under my flimsy cubicle shelf. I felt very vunerable.

it felt stronger to you because of the geography of the area (as compared to the west coast) and it was a shallow quake which makes the quake feel stronger and longer to you
