    Felt it just north of Charlotte. Was kind of scared when the table I was at spontaneously started shaking.

    heck those are fun....love feeling the floor roll under my feet...

    only time i ever found one scary was in 96, we lived close enough to the epicenter that a minute or so later my son & i could actually hear the earth move with an enormous eery rumbling groan....that was f'in creeeepy :shock:

    I missed the whole thing. Was driving back from upstate NY. WTF

    This has me thinking of the Kiwis moaning about a couple inches of snow and cold. It was what, "13" degrees? Centigrade? :lol:

    By the time I figured out what it was, it was over. And to think I was nervous there would be a quake while I was in San Fran last month...and instead there was one (itty bitty one) at home.

    I haven't seen any damage anywhere here in Richmond VA. I'd say only older structures with very weak points or loose bricks would have had any problems.

    On the radio NPR mentioned that the reason it was felt so far is because of the lack of faults the vibrations traveled far, whereas in California they would have not traveled so far because of the many fault fractures stopping the vibrations.

    I was at wok, on my lunch break in the breakroom. Walls started shaking then apparently whole building shook for about 10-15 seconds. First though that it was someone on the roof, then i realized that wasn't it. Cautionly opened the breakroom door and stood under it. Customer walked by and asked me if that was an earthquake. hen went on facebook and found out everyone else experienced it. :lol:

    You folks need some earthquake preparedness training.
    You don't want to run outside - it's the falling bricks and electrical wires that will get you.

    The best thing about an earthquake? It's over by the time you realize what it was. No hiding in the cellar worried for hours like in tornados or hurricanes.

    Some of us in N.Y. have been traumitized since 9/11, every day since in Manhattan since has been that much more Stressful, sorry if that doesn't meet some criteria of yours.
