For today's economy, there is nothing wrong with the prices PJ are charging for their shows. If anyone recall one of the recent interviews Ed game in RS, he already hinted that ticket prices would HAVE to be raised due to wear and tear on the body, economy, etc. I would quote the article, but RS's search function is far from useful, so I can't locate it right now.
Well done PJ/10C...these are still very reasonable prices for the type of show we get. I hope everyone has some basic understanding of Economics 101 and can accept this maturely.

You do have to ask the question: Why are tickets $17 more this time around compared to 2 years ago? The only answer i can think of is to put more money into their wallets.0 -
Come on. I understand the pricing, but wasnt the whole ticketmaster thing about keeping prices around 20.00 a show for the fans?
Now I get that 20.00 is now 30.00 15 years later, but where does the other 47.00 come from? Ticket fees are what? 5-10? Gas is expensive I guess. So maybe that's the increase. I get not wanting sponsors, but what the hell is the point in keeping your integrity if it keeps fans at home?

agreed. and i have no problem with them making money, but just with past stances on ticket prices, this is a bit off-putting. i'm not sure how an average joe who works in a gas station will be able to buy a ticket for himself and his son, and get a couple of tshirts, to reference ed's theory on ticket prices from around '94. yeah, i know...things have changed, but i think something in the $50-$60 would be more reasonable.

It’s a matter of what you’re willing to pay and to who you’re willing to pay it. About 5 years ago, REM came around and wanted $90 for the cheapest seat in house. I said, noooo way. As much as I wanted to see them, I wasn’t going to put out that kind of money for them.
The Who came in 2006 and not once, not twice, but three times I paid over $125 a ticket to see them. And it was WORTH EVERY MFing PENNY.
As will these PJ shows.

Most major acts these days charge well over $100 per ticket for seats, with most of the orchestra / floor seats going for well above that. PJ always does right by their fans.
Case in point:
U2 fan club seats @ $165 each got me 6th row in a lower tier section at the far back corner of the stadium
Clapton fan club seats @ $ 125 ea got me 28th row on the floor far right side
The Who fan club seats @ $ 150 ea got me 19th row floor far right side
PJ fan club seats in 2006 @ $98 for a pair got me 2nd row floor center btwn Ed and Stone
Inflation rears it's ugly head in all markets, but I'm happy to pay PJ $148 for a pair of seats to a guaranteed awesome show.

No they aren't it's high. You can be a fanboy and try to validate the prices but the fact of the matter is, the prices are high.
These prices are not consistent with the band's past stance on ticket costs, nor are they consistent with the inflation.
I saw someone mention tickets were $112 in 2006, now two years later they are $148?

For everyone assuming the tix are $74 apiece, I believe you'll find the $74 will consist of 3 components...
1. The face value of the ticket
B. Some small, reasonable 10club handling fee
Third. A "facility fee" that amphitheaters always tack on each seat

There are usually different prices in different cities. That was for a small venue in Hawaii. Venues in larger cities have all sorts of rules for pricing. I think we'll all see a variety of prices for this and hopefully additional legs of the '08 tour.AmentsChick wrote:You're in alot of fan clubs.
I like getting first shot at tickets in the fan club pre sales. Also in the Santana fan club but I've always gotten better seats through TM with them.
