Great EV show in Chicago last night...BUT....

I think sometimes Ed prefers that the crowd sits. Obviously, there will be times when people want to get up and rock out, but for the most part, I kinda enjoyed the intimate setting.

I had the pleasure of sitting next to the Woo Woo girls last night. If it had only been in between songs, I wouldn't have thought twice about it. The problem was them Wooing throughout songs, then EVERY song they played was her favorite and she tried to tell me all about it DURING the song. I tried my best to ignore her and it didn't ruin the night for me. But it's extremely hard to zone someone like that out when they're sitting right next to you. She's also a 10C member....said she hated people that screamed out song titles and proceeded to scream out Porch over and over again. :roll:

An EV solo show is different from a PJ show. At PJ, the louder the better!

I like how you generalize...I didn't have a problem with the cheering, more the sonic boom whistling from one guy behind me and two drunk woo woo girls...but yeah I guess I am the asshole. Is it really any different than any other concert you have been to?

For the last week or so I have been reading peoples reviews of shows here. And its hard for me to believe why some people here even bother going. We wait a year or 2 for shows, we get all excited when we get our tickets, we wait patiently for the day to come.......Then after the show people come on here and bitch and whine about how other people were behaving? At a concert? Personally, I dont give a fuck how other people act at a concert....Its a concert!!!!

And this is nothing personal towards you...
There are 100 other reviews where people are just whining and complaining about other people at the shows....

Agreed, An EV solo show is exactly that, a SHOW. Pearl Jam plays a concert. You don't got a show on broadway and get all rowdy.

Act like you would act if Ed was playing only to you.

I know, I know, it came on Uke first.

I've been to several "sit-down" type shows before and last night was my first Ed show of this nature. The crowd in all honesty was about the same as it is with anyone else. There is always the idiotic people who think because its quite they might get to "talk" to the artist. Happens at EVERY show of this nature. They don't have to be drunk for this to happen. It's their need/want to be recognized. "OMG eddie heard me when I shouted out (insert dumbass remark)".

I've seen Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds 5 times, and Phish played an accoustic set last year at Festival 8 and asked everyone to sit down and chill out. It happend all 6 times and last night was no different. In all honesty there were points where it was a little annoying, but thats what you get when you go to a show like this. Just try, and I'm emphasizing TRY to tune it out. It can be difficult to say the least, but eventually they will stop. I thought last night during the songs most people were extremely polite and listened. During the stories it would get old, but a lot of people don't realize its NOT a PJ show. I understand most peoples complaints. We go there not only for the music but for the stories. Other people see Ed is playing the Chicago Theater and don't really understand what they are getting themselves into.

To the person who complained that "people were sitting down the whole time". Man that is what this show is. That is what every show of this nature is. They are supposed to be intimate, not a rager. It's like going over to his house and sitting there with some friends listening to him play and tell stories. Not a 4 night stand in Philly.

Everyone has the right to complain, but from my perspective last night was normal, and in some cases pretty damn good from a crowd perspective. Enjoy the music and the fact your one of 3500 people getting to witness this and worry a little less about the idiot in the balc screaming out lukin. Unless your sitting right next to him, then politely punch him in the face.
