"Isn't there like a statue of limitations on that?"
    "Statute."
    "What?"
"Statute of limitations. It's not a statue."
    "No, it's statue."
"Fine, it's a sculpture of limitations."

I just hope they get the signing done and it's not another wasted trade

Looking at moves with this happening Leino will be gone

    Hartnell has a NTC

while i think most Flyers fans like Leino, i think it's safe to say we would also rather have a top flight goalie

Yeah I agree...plus I read they have a prospect in the minors who could fill his role

Would you trade Carter for the 8th pick ? I have no clue about this draft and if its deep

i believe in proven talent to unknown talent. give me Carter vs. the 8th pick. if there was more coming back, than it might be a differnet story.

best way to lower the gaa for flyer goaltenders is to get some forwards to play D ... sure, the current roster is not fantastic but goalies are a huge reflection of the system and players in front of them ... there were too many times this post season where the goalie was left hung to dry and lot of it is the pride the forwards take on playing in their own end ...

not having their best player, who just happens to play defense, had more to do with their playoff shortcomings than anything else (other than the terrible goalie carousel)

agree with what 81 said...this team is built to win now. pronger and timonen aren't getting any younger. sign the dude, dump some salary (cough carter cough), and fill in the holes with role players (powe, gagne, odonnell, etc).

    Flyers get :

    8th pick
    Jakub Voracek RW

Young RW restricted free agent just finished his 3rd season and rookie contract

    He's averaged 45pts a year..career high 16 goals in a season

hartnell has a no trade clause, so I'm not sure why he's mentioned here. I don't understand why signing bryzgalov means they would have to move bob either. that doesn't make sense to me. I wonder if panaccio was drunk when he wrote this

Bryzgalov and Flyers will meet to break ice

In a meeting that could shape the Flyers' future, standout goalie Ilya Bryzgalov will be introduced to several team officials on Thursday.

Bryzgalov and his agent, Ritch Winter, will arrive in Philadelphia late Wednesday night and meet with general manager Paul Holmgren, coach Peter Laviolette, and goalie coach Jeff Reese, among others, the next day.

The Flyers acquired the rights to Bryzgalov last week, sending minor-league winger/enforcer Matt Clackson and a third-round pick in 2012 to Phoenix. The Coyotes will also get a conditional pick if Bryzgalov signs with the Flyers.

Thursday will be the first time the Flyers' brass has had a chance to meet with the goalie, who turns 31 next Wednesday.

Holmgren had a recent phone conversation with Bryzgalov and said he "sounded pretty excited."

The Flyers are optimistic about coming to terms with Bryzgalov before he becomes an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Bryzgalov figures to get a five-year deal in the neighborhood of $27 million.

To sign the goalie and fit him under the salary cap, the Flyers will probably not be able to re-sign winger Ville Leino - and figure to move one of their high-priced players, such as defenseman Matt Carle.

If the Flyers sign Bryzgalov, they are expected to use Sergei Bobrovsky as his backup.

The Flyers agreed to terms with 6-foot-5, 209-pound Tom Sestito, the winger reported on Twitter. He was acquired from Columbus last season and played with the Phantoms.
