stillhere...regarding the seating chart you posted, I don't believe they have GA in front of the stage, I believe those will be reserved seating sects # 101,102 etc. just guessing from some of the seating charts I found when researching all this. when researching you have to select the band and not just look at a generic seating chart b/c every event is different. just my 2c, somewhat educated guess

also, on the 10c expo area, don't they say on the pj20 site that you cannot see the stage from the expo area, just a place to get away from it all.

I got my room for one night, hoping things go well on monday!! but whatever happens it's okay, but I'll step to the line and shoot the ball!!

so thankful 10c/pj gave us a week to digest this and check into things, money people, camps, etc.

This is a view from the expo center and the middle grass area where nobody is sitting will probably be the 10c lawn section.

amethgr8 - thanks for your post. it sort of answers the question I was about to ask on here...
basically I wanted to check if my assumption/interpretation of the whole PJ20-information regarding the tickets is right: when buying 10C-Tickets, you either have the option of 1 night seated and 1 night standing or both nights standing - right? this is pretty much the deciding point for me in order to consider a journey across the pond in september. only a "chairless" experience is a true PJ-experience to me.
chairs and go - nono. no chairs to go. go without chairs, yes.;)

If you fly into Milwaukee whats the best way to get to Alpine Valley Resort? Are there shuttles to there? Flights are pretty cheap, I just don't really feel like driving for 14 hours.

obviously - anything else would be mad.
still, those chairs severely limit your possibilities of transforming the band's musical product into a free and in my view necessary / my case inevitable body movement...
    it's a european thing i guess...tough to explain.

I've never felt the need to bang into sweaty drunk people to make my concert experience better.

Alpine Valley is about 45min drive from Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport. The PJ20.com site also mentions shuttles from Milwaukee each day. Alpine is in the middle of nowhere but it is pretty easy to get to.

Ok cool. Thanks for the info. I know some hotels have shuttles from the airport but if its that far away I doubt it. I am staying at Alpine Valley Resort, so I just wasn't sure if I had to rent a car as well(which is only $70) for the trip. I think that is my best option.

Still thinking road trip, from Berks County, PA. Maybe leave Thursday and stop over in Cleveland to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, get to Alpine area late Friday. Thinking it would be about $250 for gas, a lot less than 2 people flying & rental car.

You'd be surprised how close in price it is. I think you are underestimating your gas cost. My wife just drove to Indiana and it was more than that and it's a shorter trip. Rental cars are around $17-20 per day. Plus it's a 2 hour trip and not 15 hours. I was debating driving until I saw the prices.

I think it would be great if the fundraising done on this Canadian tour did something to help the people of Slave Lake, Alberta.....Word is 7000 people were forced from their homes due to fire, 40% of the town burned to the ground :( A close friend lost absolutely everything. Another board member, Cree Nations, has a lot of friends and family in the area too....So sad.

Hopefully by September they will have some insurance/government assistance rolling in...but it's something to keep in mind....and if any of you want to help, contact the Alberta Red Cross ( http://www.redcross.ca )

yep, I recalculated, maybe more like $330 for gas (1650 miles, 20 mpg, $4/gallon), but still less than flights that I saw for 237 x 2 plus rental car of $70 you say = $544. So maybe about $200 to save lots of hours driving, could be worth it, but we were thinking of taking a trip this summer anyway and adding in a few things to see on the way might fit the bill for that.

My wife and I are flying in from Los Angeles and planning on renting a car. If anyone wants to coordinate a hotel and split car rental or parking costs (in exchange for a drive to and from the show Sat and Sun), I'm amenable to that. Car rentals are cheap, but the parking and gas not so much. We will be flying back out first thing Monday morning, like 6 am, though... so the car would be gone after that.

I was thinking about staying in the Waukesha area, cheap hotels there, not as far as Milwaukee. Opinions?
Is it too much to ask for a full-blown Temple of the Dog set? Probably.

I don't know where or how far Waukesha is, but to me...you're better off staying in Milwaukee. If you're flying in and out of there it will make your travel days much easier, and the shuttles to/from the shows will eliminate/balance out your car rental/parking expenses...and will probably be a total blast as well. (c'mon a busload of people going to a PJ festival?)
Not to mention that using priceline will get you a room in Milwaukee for peanuts - like $60 - $90/nt

So the area that is fenced off until PJ starts....the one that is manned by security for the 10c when PJ starts...how big are we thinking this area is going to be? I'd think it would hold a few thousand people, right? So during the other 8 hours or so that PJ is not playing...will this just be an open area that nobody can walk through and have to stand to the side of and / or look around? And does anybody have an opinion of where the other 2 stages are going to be? And how tall is the fence that they say they'll take down before PJ starts?

I guess I'll take comfort that the undercard (if we're being real) pretty much sucks and doesn't absolutely need to be seen. Had Soundgarden been on this lineup...fences would come down.

I'm going to this, and have been a HUGE fan since 1991....but this is NOT the venue for this. Nothing anybody can do about it now, but this venue flippin' sucks!! Middle of nowhere...hotels / motels at a minimum are like 12 miles away (and that's if you want to drop serious coin to stay there)...GA lawn seats have you standing at an angle which is f-ing uncomfortable....and traffic to get out of there is a monster biyaatch!

Another question...can we tail-gate in the parking lot? I'd like to get a few "free" beers in before dropping $8 for a beer, which if I remember from past experience, Alpine has some of the priciest concessions around.
