Well, maybe Ibanez isn't done after all. Everyone fess up - who else said he was? These are all signs that point to the end of a player's career. Ibanez will undoubtedly have a hot streak or two this season wherein Phillies fans and fantasy owners will convince themselves that he has regained his stroke. The streaks are temporary fixes, however, like using a piece of gum to plug a hole, and before we know it the Ibanez who looks his age will be back. Other players may have been prematurely written off in the past, but the same cannot be said of Ibanez. Practically everything he has shown so far this season suggests that he has reached the end of his career.0 -

He may be right. I don't know - guys who are done usually don't hit upper deck homers & singles off 98-mph fastballs. It's not like Jeter getting a couple infield singles.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

come on johnny. one upper deck HR doesn't mean shit. sal fasano even hit a few of them while he was here0 -
Does it really matter one way or the other? He's going to be here the entire season and gone in the offseason. That's all we DO know.0

This is true. I just love how you'd think this team was wallowing in the basement with the talk. Looking forward to this month. Gonna be interesting....0 -

Sal Fasano.
It's pretty widely known that he's always been a streaky hitter, so we'll see how it goes. His performance this series was amazing though. At first I thought it was just because Livan Hernandez was throwing 65 mph fastballs, but tonight was a different story.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

Ouch...
John Lannan(notes) (2-4) got roughed up, allowing seven hits and six runs in two-plus innings to fall to 0-10 against the Phillies. My drinking team has a hockey problem

not necessarily. they have shown they will eat salary. I like ibanez, he seems like a good dude. that said, he's not good enough to start in a corner spot on a team with championship aspirations. I wouldn't mind seeing him continue to tank so it forces them to go out and get someone that doesn't suck.
I'd love josh willingham. and I've been talking myself into carlos beltran...I think he would be a perfect fit.0 -

pretty sure he was 0-10 going into the game. at least he didn't hit any hitters tonight0 -

Come on - we're tied with the fucking INDIANS!!!The Fixer wrote:pretty sure he was 0-10 going into the game. at least he didn't hit any hitters tonight
He hit Victorino. didn't he hit his HR off of coffee? that guy doesn't throw that hard. that dude needs a manzier0 -

Yea he does.
He stroked a single up the middle off a 98 mph fastball (not Coffee). It was sweet.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

Even if he tanks, they won't bail on him. I don't see it happening. Plus, they most likely will get someone, but that won't be till the trade deadline because a) there's no reason to rush because they're winning at a .700 clip b) Utley will be back around the end of May so they'll give him time to see where he stands c) letting Dom Brown rehab, though that's not an offensive rescue.
They've got time to figure it out. Better to see what you've got than overreact.
Halladay now 10-0 against the Nats and Lannan 0-10 against the Phils. Ha.Post edited by Jearlpam0925 on0 -
if you played a drinking game and had to drink every time charlie manuel says 'you know like'...you would be hammered within 5 minutes. You would drink the entire time0
