    sure you can...if the market were to jump 10% and your portfolio was only up half a percent. :P

    S&P 500 is up about 6% YTD while i'm up about 10% (including dividends). no complaits from me. i'd take 5% a month all day long.

    sure you can...if the market were to jump 10% and your portfolio was only up half a percent. :P

    S&P 500 is up about 6% YTD while i'm up about 10% (including dividends). no complaits from me. i'd take 5% a month all day long.

    If you are up only when 1% when the market is up 10%, hopefully that means you are also only down 1% when the market is down 10%. Nothing wrong with hedging!

    overall, it's not been that bad. as of right now, i'm down 1% on the week. having one company annouce that they are putting themselves up for sale did help a little. that one is up 12%

    i gotta admit, as a mortgage guy, i enjoy what a good ol' fashion natural disaster does to the 10 year....and thus mortgage rates.

    i realize that sounds awful so with that said, my thoughts and prayers are with the people of japan. they really are. i just enjoy selling low rates.
