so much optimism and chest thumping monday and tuesday....:lol:
    optimism yes, chest thumping no

few bad breaks cost us and bases loaded choke basically ended this game. feel bad for niese cause he's pitched a good game. could be my bias showing just cause i like him over pelf alot more.

there was a lil' chest thumping on tuesday. come on metsy

hey, there's always next year.
ok fine just lil' chest thumpin lol

really thought this year would be different under collins. still early in the season and not having bay in that lineup really makes davis look naked.

yeah i hear you on not having bay in the lineup. that would be kinda like the phils not having utley in the lineup. oh wait....

    rollins over reyes
    ben fran over beltran
    howard over davis
    ruiz over thole
    phils LF over duda/harriston

shall i go on or not?

your lineup can survive without utley whereas ours can't without bay. without bay you can't put reyes, pagan, beltran, 1-3.

sorry a bit outta it after that beating. didn't think we'd be that bad with niese on the mound.

I'm guessing these are just season holders dumping them off for a major loss?? The tickets I bought for $30 are $134 on Mets site...no profit, just awesome deal for me...good to see you too, and let's go Mets!

the godfather of sportstalk radio thinks it's seasons ticket holders who can't go to all the games and are dumping them off for less then face value and helping out other fans. it makes sense considering they already paid for. i will def be hitting up some games once it get's warmer.

midgn, thats a scary thing to say but it's either him or niese as our #1(ace)

I actually think our lineup is pretty good. Sure we couldn't get anything done when we had quite a few opportunities early, which is insanely frustrating. But, we were also facing the best pitcher in the game. So, as hard as it was to watch Wright K against Halladay w/the bases loaded, I'm still trying to keep in perspective who it was on the mound.

Also, shoddy defense by the Mets last night was really not helping Niese. Sure he gave up some big hits, but if the D had been better it could have really limited the damage.

Anywow. Good win for the Phils.

    On to the Nationals.

    I'm not

Getting bombed in your first 2 starts doesn't get my vote of confidence or other met fans. I used to be so high on him and now I wouldn't care if they traded him. I guess I got fooled by the mets hype machine.

But it's 2 starts - not time to jump off a bridge. Of course I have room to talk after the Cole Hamels incident...

it's just not 2 starts, it's been his whole career. i mean who the hell licks their hand a million times a game or wears a mouthpiece.

I'm pretty down on Pelf myself at this point. He had a nice start to last year, but other than that, he's been up and down, and honestly, just not good enough.

I still like Niese, the guy needs to be able to hold it together a little longer into games, but he has a big league curve and a nice cutter.

So how's the weather there today? I snuck out early last night to get home for the game (5:10 start here) and to my dismay, PPD. Same plan today - Mother Nature willing.
