    tim couldve done without quoting ONE specific poster... afterall this freakout was the result of MANY bitchy posts around here... not really fair to quote one person and pretty much call that one person a "loser"... the "loser" was implied for everyone else that complains too much

    i understand his frustration... it gets annoying sometimes... and i always try to give reasons for my dislike of klausen instead of just saying "klausen sucks!"... but even if i had just said that i would not appreciate being called a loser by a person closely connected to PJ

    i understand that speech can be regulated in this setting but ive always felt that i can speak freely here as long as it does not go against the established rules... talking shit about poster artists does not... even if theyre related to band members... they should add to the rules and just close the threads that turn nasty, not resort to name calling

    Thanks for the props on my collection..:D As for adding WPB...I am currently retired, so unless something really grabs me in the next week or two, or I attend any shows in the future, I wont be adding anything anytime soon. Plus, I still have about 50 others I need to think about before I buy anything else.

    No, he didnt tell him he wasnt entitled to do it or erase his post, which would have been censorship, he simply told him what he thought about it here.

    True, but I understand that the moderators do censor this board from time to time.

    Tim can say what he wants and have his rants. But if one of us were to personally attack him - as he attacked a fan - would we not be banned?

    The whole "this is our board" and "you can't say certain things" really keeps my whole post count low.

    This is the Pearl Jam Message Pit - a place for people to gather and discuss things rationally and with a bit of humour....(and if it gets heated, us the PM feature)

    It is NOT the Pearl Jam complaints department.

    If you truly dislike something, contact the 10 C directly and stop sullying others' good times. Most folks on this message pit don't give a crap if someone says they hate something. It sounds so smug - and smugness is not a good quality.

    This is peoples' life work here - and whether you like it or not, treat it and the artists with a modecom of RESPECT. Is that too difficult to expect?

    You have fair points, but this is a board that is run by a private corporation and they make the rules and we are expected to follow them. It is their board and you can't say certain things.

    Would you take a crap at a table at a restaurant? Would you run into an elementary school land start swearing at the kids?

    Banning themselves is silly. Reprimands were necessary here. You cannot dictate how the "boss" delivers the reprimand...

    as an artist, ive come to expect many to dislike my work... but i do it because its what i like... if the ames bros or BK (which we all know posts here from time to time) wants to come on here and flip out then they are more than entitled to do so... i would expect them to enquire what it is that the critic doesnt like about their work (if not mentioned) to help them improve... but i dont think its up to tim to say what he did... if the posters artists really enjoy what theyre doing then it shouldnt matter if people talk shit... and if they dont, well theres plenty of artists that would love the opportunity and are more than capable

    And this has been going on for years. Look what's happened in less than a year - BK got pissed off, and now the band (presumably) and the 10 Club are fed up with this ridiculous sense of entitlement that SOME people express on this board.

    Complaints are fine...but if you truly HATE something that Pearl Jam (or their affiliates) have done or said or drew or performed or designed or recorded, tell the damn band (or affiliates). If a person wants to rant about something in public, do so with respect -- which I note, the more time I spend on this website, seems to be a foreign concept to a lot of people.

    If you don't like what Pearl Jam LLC does, then don't buy the product. If you don't like a poster, stop looking at it.

    And I am sorry to hear that you expect people to dislike your art...It would be nice if you were able to focus on the people who like it, rather than those who don't, but I guess that's just human nature.

    the problem really comes down to internet anonymity... im SURE people arent really as rude as they come off on this board... if we all stop for a moment and consider whether we "hate" something or simply "dislike it" we can solve alot of these problems... only post if you truly hate something... and if you do that be sure to give viable reasons that can help to fix the PROBLEM (keep word being problem... and problems have solutions... if you bitching wont fix anything then just keep it to yourself)

    There is too much negativity around here and it's about time someone said something. Pearl Jam owe us nothing, they, the fanclub, poster artists, admins etc and the everyday hard working individuals have given us enough over the years, I don't understand why people feel they have to be so ungrateful.
    Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

    ... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

Prob not, but I will bet that the people who continue wont be around here too much longer and the gauntlet has been dropped.     Let me add that I think that 'losers' is a pretty accurate description of people who have nothing better to do than bitching around on message boards. It really is that simple: Nobody forces us to buy everything the band offers, if you don't like it, don't buy it. I don't like the WPB Poster as well, but who cares. I like Tampa and will try for it once 10c offers it.

    An obviously smart man once said: "Message boards are not a healthy place to be." Seems to be true...

    Scott (PJtradeking) is indeed absolutely righty.......there is way way too much moaning and bitching that goes on this board, it really does seem that the band can not do any right sometimes. Someone above has posted a list of the things recently complained about which is all spot on.

    However I still firmly believe that man in this position should not be venting publicly at what could be technically referred to as his customers, and certainly not saying just things on behalf of his employers. A band of this stature need their fans, sure they are huge, they probably dont need me, but they need us as a collective whole, and to have people on your behalf, publicly blasting a 'fan' for making a comment that one of their posters wasnt great, is 100% out of order.

    Yeah we all love PJ thats why we come, they are one of the biggest influences on my life too, I dont come here to bitch and moan, but I do always try and remember that everyone is entitled to their opinion. This opinion was that the poster was poor, I don't agree, think Tampa is excellent....but still its hardly the biggest crime is it?? And whats more there have been far more posts on this board of late that maybe would have warranted such a reply (but still it should never be given) not this one....

    The fact is PJ is and like it or not has always been big business, I couldnt give a monkeys chuff about that, I love it, spend cash on it and have no regrets, they can be sponsored by who the fuck they like for me, provided it doesnt affect the band's music and performance, but a business must respect its clientbase, even if it doesnt respect you, as they are the ones who have made you what you are. To come out and call them assholes and losers is plain wrong to me......This guy I would have thought would have been far more professional and smart than to do this, why couldnt he have been a diplomat and clever with his reply, even quirky......

    No, although I see the point that there is far too much shitty moaning on here, there has been reason for some of it, like the bands recent clear hyprocricy on certain issues (which I dont give a fuck about but its clear to see) a representative of the band should never conduct himself in this way. Its bordering on suicidal. I do wonder whether the band would support this approach over someones view of a poster??
