No way man, its nice to see someone close to the band finally telling these childish losers to shut up and be grateful for everything they do for them, and as for verizon, its a new way of distributing bootlegs, a lot of people want their music on the their phones, and this is the band jumping on the bandwagon to do more for the collective fan base, its not about money or selling out, i mean its obviously about money but i doubt that is the main reason for doing it, and also if someone said ok you can things this way and not make money or you could do the exact same thing AND make money off it youre telling me youd choose to do it for free? i call bullshit.

Trust me, I'm grateful that my favorite band gives me countless bootlegs and releases posters for every show. But, the band should be grateful that people are willing to buy up everything they give us the opportunity to buy and that we've provided them with the opportunity to make a pretty tidy living doing what they love.

As for Verizon, my only point is that times have changed since the days of "sponsored by no one." Sure, I'd take the money and run, but you can't compare me to the band, because I haven't made tens of millions writing and performing music. Maybe it's a double standard, but there's a difference between a band that has been enormously successful and a young middle-class person trying to make rent payments and feed his family.

Couldnt disagree with you more. Yes, you are the customer, but it is THEIR website. If you want to have an opinion, or trash the band or any of the artists or reps, start your own website, or blog, or whatever the fuck it is that people do these days and state your rant or opinion there. I said this MANY MANY times, that ONE day, someone would have enough of the shit that goes on around here, and I APPLAUD TB for FINALLY coming here and calling someone out. You might see it as weak and uncalled for, I see it LONG LONG overdue and COMPLETELY JUSTIFIED. In some people eyes, this band can do NO RIGHT. It is either too expensive, or it is too far away, or they dont tour the south, or why cant I have a HARD cd and on and on. Yet EACH AND EVERY TOUR, they TRY to improve on the last one whether you people see that or not. We wanted wristbands? WE got got em. We wanted options on cds? We got em.. I get that you cant please everyone, and that no matter WHAT they do, the band, the mods, the 10C whatever, SOMEONE will be bent. I still defy you to tell me that 90% of EVERYTHING this band and its family does isnt for us! they know who we are, they know that most of us care, and they know that sometimes they cant do for everyone. If they choose to finally "sell out" as some of those so eloquently put it and try do do something for themselves and pocket a little more coin than maybe they normally have in the past, GOOD FOR THEM!! I am not foolish enough to think that they dont make $$, and that they dont make ALOT of $$ off ME. but they are a band, and it is the music that brought most of us together, the rest is fucking gravy. So if you or anyone else doesnt like the product, what it does for you, how it is represented, then please, do as I said, start your own site and trash away, because everyone has a breaking point. Tim showed you his today, and if this shit keeps up, maybe someday the band will show us as well. Not touring, ONLY doing benefits or corporate shows and dibanding the 10C all together. Dont think it will happen? I'll bet alot of folks didnt think that TB would do this? Is it gonna stop? Prob not, but I will bet that the people who continue wont be around here too much longer and the gauntlet has been dropped. Maybe this will clean house a bit and some of the people he referred to will disapear. One can only hope! Have a nice day!

I with you on the I worship PJ thing, but you're wrong on free speech. One thing pjtradeking is right about is that this is PJ's website and they can shut down speech as much as they want. The First Amendment only applies to regulation of speech by the government, not by private entities.

If one were shopping for posters in person, and saw one he didn't like, he probably wouldn't tell the guy selling them: "I fucking hate the Ames Brothers."

He'd probably just say, "No, thanks" and move on.

I have a feeling if the poster in the other thread had said, "Eh, I don't really like that poster" it would have been fine. But to denigrate a friend of the band who obviously worked hard on it is a little much.

The way I see it is it's not the constructive criticism that they dislike but the really negative ones. They obviously have listened to posts here and made quite a few new additions. The cd's, flac, mp3's, dl's for phones, bands for the posters at concerts, lighters, PJ stuff for kids, etc. There just is never a need to be negative here. It's all good or should be. Post a thread if you want something they don't offer but don't knock what they do offer, because you can be sure some do.

I am not necessarily talking about the band itself here..and also, it is hard sometimes to find the positive here on a daily basis to focus on...Would you care if people were talking bad about you and your family? One thing to remember here is that these guys/gals are all friends, brothers, sisters, however you want to spin it. These arent Sony reps that monitor here, they are tight and care about one another and in most cases have a long history....The guys at Ames and TB are friends, it is more than a business relationship we are talking about here.. If I was in charge of a website, or whatever, and I came here everyday and saw people infesting what is SUPPOSE to be positive environment, with crap about my family day in and day out, I would find it hard to let it go, let alone for as long as it has been going on. No different than going to school and hearing someone tell you that your sister was a whore. Maybe in the beginning, you would blow it off as kids being kids, but after a while if you had to hear it EVERY SINGLE DAY, you would crack too. That is just the way I see it is all..:)

This place is often like a nursing home filled with rabid seniors screaming for Jello... but everyone wants a different flavor of Jello but the staff only has Red and Orange... Edna wants Green Jello and is even threatening to go to a different home to get it... Thomas wants the rare Yellow Jello that only gets served occasionally, problem is he wants it every damned day and Bob wants the purple kind that no one else likes... And then there are some of them that want Pudding instead of Jello... But at the end of the day you eat the Red and Orange Jello and you fucking like it... because it's the only Jello being offered.

On a side note... I love the logo for the bootlegs with the baby bird in the nest, I often think of it as a sarcastic message from the band or it's staff... like "hey time to feed the kids"...

my speech for today, provided free of charge, is that i think i have the fortunate good luck to worship the most generous group of guys, who seem to care enough about what their fans might want they give them something different to pick from every time they can. and they still seem humbled by the fact that by far the majority of us want it. i don't complain.
