The Vic show was good... but Roo blows it out of the water.

No Contest... Roo by a KNOCKOUT.

that gave me chills. :D i love the idea of new people being turned on to pj.

i have to go with roo. that setlist was such a shocker...and there's something to be said for 70,000 people (or whatever it was) singing along with you.

You mean there is actually a better song than Watchtower?

Sorry, but Watchtower is probably one of the greatest songs ever written.

if you were at the Vic show, there is not debate. Bonnaroo setlist will most likely be repeated somewhat during PJ's tour. I expect DC or MSG to be pretty good.

I'd like Immortality, WMA, and Hold On at DC

    ROO - wins
Release in the encore, and h2i as opener. That does it for me.

now MSG and the tweeter has a game on their hand in being THE show of the tour. They really need to burst out songs like: imortallity, breath, in my tree, indifference, no way and undone to match roo.
Run away my son. See it all. Oh see the world.

looking at all that The VIC is clearly the winner by song rarity, however Bonaroo may go down as the most surprising show ever

Both had some awesome common songs, both pulled out some great covers, both pulled out some rarely played things (5 or under), both were amazing from any way you look at it. Should the Venue determine this if all else is even? If so you have to go with the VIC

I was there(VIC), not at roo, and I'll damn well say roo is dead even and I wish the fuck I was there

This is the correct answer thanks for summing that up for me :) Both shows completely amazing setlists and I would kill to see WMA and Who You Are. BUT the Vic had Rats, Undone, Down, I'm Open, Hard to Imagine, arguably the best fucking In Hiding ever, and so much more. It IS a tough call but the Vic wins the setlist challenge.

Having not heard the Roo yet I can't say what the better show was. There IS more to a show than the setlist in my opinion.

I'm very biased and will go with VIC. Having said that, Roo had an AMAZING setlist.

Ahh, the setlist debates. Stupid, but kind of fun.

The Vic is the hands-down winner (and that is with the PJ setlist . . . add in the Ed pre-set, and it is a runaway victory).

That said, I think I was very surprised by the Roo's setlist (I was expecting a Lolla repeat). I'm kind of kicking myself for not going. I'm ordering the CD because it seems like it will be a great listen while sipping a beer and lounging in my pool.

I still think the greatest setlist was Santa Barbara 03. It was the TOTD reunion show, for Jimminy Crickets sake!!! Can't be beat.

from an unbiased perspective, i wasnt at either show, the vic blows bonnarooo out of the water, still. They opened with fucking all or none, end thread.

yeah, until i hear roo, vic blows it away! WMA or no WMA, all night or no all night!

give me the experience of what i hear on that boot with all or none or in hiding over hearing WMA any day!

The Vic is far supreme, it's not even a contest. Not even counting Ed's pre-set, nobody's gonna win a setlist debate that features runs of:

Betterman > Black > Life Wasted > Crazy Mary > Porch
    or
Animal > Even Flow > Daughter

C'mon. Having said that, though, Bonnaroo is by far the greater achievement for the band - possibly the greatest show they've pulled off IMO, certainly in this 'later' phase of their career. Shoot I'd almost written them off before this tour started, and I've been around forever ;)

When hard-core lifers are babbling as much about the buzz as the 10s of thousands of others that were just equally blown away, that's impressive. Hard to overestimate what a killer event this was for the band, and not in small part by tossing up nailing a brilliant and beautifully varied setlist.

    Way to go PJ!

    :)
