Feeling old!
Going through the checkout at my local supermarket I was wearing a Sydney tour shirt. The guy asked if I was a Pearl Jam fan, I naturally replied yes, he asked me my fav album, I replied Yield and asked did he know PJ.
He replied sort of my Dad has all their albums!
Dohhhhh!

Nooooooooooooo! I had a younger friend of mine try and get me by asking if Eddie Vedder was a runner up on American Idol.If I knew then, would I know now?
* Perth Entertainment Centre - Mar 06, 1995

Don't you people look around at a show? You don't see many people under the age of 30 there anymore. You gotta remember pj have been round 20 years, so most people probably discovered them in their teens to 20s so add twenty years to that and you got a bunch of old guys and girls.
I'm only 30 and I feel like I'm one of the younger persons at the concerts.condescending and sarcastic since 19800 -
Guess that was the point, it's amazing how fast twenty years go by and I still feel like the 20 somthing who first fell in love with PJ.
So yes we are all old farts just thought it a funny moment to share when I was so reminded of it today.
Some people on this board are way to serious.....Im not supersticious, Im just a littlesticious.0 -

How do you think I felt in St. Louis last summer?

Haha, all one has to do is watch the Grammy's from this year and you'll see that PJ fans are a generation removed (at least one) from the current state of music. (Gaga, Bieber, rinse/repeat)0

Yeah, at most of the concerts that he sees kids at, they are probably the kids of old fans like the rest of us...gotta love the evolution. Is it so wrong to think that love can keep us safe?0 -
That's exactly what it is...at least for me. My mom was a fan when I was too young to even talk...so I grew up with them. I was 6 at my first concert.0

I know how you feel. I turned 39 this year. Been a pj fan since high school.
The coil thing is my son is getting into them & he is 10 years old. Doesn't love them the same way he loves green day but knows their stuff.Gibson19720 -

well i may be getting old (35 soon
), but I love when I talk to younger PJ fans and say that I went to a PJ show back in '93.....they always look at me in awe and say how awesome it must have been. I absolutely love that I got to live my teen years in the grunge era!
love is all good people need....and music sets the sick ones free...0 -
Ha! I'd give you the same look. I've always been pretty shitty about not being the age I am now back in the '90s.stargazer76 wrote:well i may be getting old (35 soon

Virtually the same for me, except I'm 37. My 10 year old son's favorite is also Green Day, but the fact that he tells people, "My dad and I have all of Pearl Jam's albums" is pretty cool (he lists Foo Fighters right up there, too).
My 8 year old son is the bigger Pearl Jam fan of the two boys. He got a spray-paint poster of Eddie for his birthday (along with Black Keys concert tix...his third favorite band behind The Who and PJ), which looks nice with the 2006 Cinci concert poster he won at the Columbus pre-party last summer. That was both my sons' first concert.
Actually, saying my sons are 10 and 8 makes me feel equally old!0 -

I know what you mean.
My son, Caleb is tomorrow and I feel old. I took him to see Green Day & he loved it.
My youngest is 4. He likes Ac/dc-back in black & Michelle by the beatles.
He also likes Kesha and Katy Perry though...(wife's influence)
He is only 4 so I can't start brainwashing him to love Pearl Jam yet (Can I?)Gibson19720 -

8 year old has Back In Black poster, along w/The Who, Dark Side, The Wall, and a Live on 2 Legs poster (on loan from me) in his room. He too pops in Ke$ha and B.E.P. from time to time...if you don't start the brainwashing now Gibby, the "time to time" may become "all the time!"0 -
you old people...."...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
