Actually, I'm on my way down to this spiffy speakeasy right now to listen to them!

I think ageing along with Pearl Jam is what keeps us young! Listening to Vs. regularly is keeping me 21 forever!

35 and 15 for me. PJ20 for real. In related news i saw Clapton last week in LA and i no longer feel old!0 -
After listening to PJ with my 20 year-old cousin last week, I took her to the train station so she could return to school. When she got to Chicago, the train attendant helped her with her bag, to which my cousin says, "I'm sorry, I went overboard shopping this week." Attendant says, "That's ok, you were visiting Dad."
As stated earlier, I'm 37. I don't think I look THAT much older than her!0 -

I totally agree..it's amazing, but when I listen to pearl jam..especially the older records sometimes it takes me back to the very first time I heard the record...
I was in my older brother's car when I first heard ten in it's entirety..I was freshman sitting in my college dorm the first time I heard Vs. and I was sitting in my parent's basement, home for Thanksgiving break, when I first listened to Vitalogy..on vinyl.Show #13 was a lucky one for me....0 -

lol... I've always said this myself as well. Too bad the grunge era couldn't have happened 10 years later!0 -

Ouch.
Good thing I wasn't with you, as I have 10 years on you. Train attendant would have said, "That's okay, you were visiting Dad and Grandma"
At which point I would have beaten him with my walker, then smooshed my Depends in his face.

On my 40th birthday (my avatar was taken then...last NOV.) I asked the DJ to play Pearl Jam. He looked at me like I was from another planet. Once he finally dug through his collection and found some PJ, the whole party went wild...I suffered for days

My sons, 6 and 9 were brought up on Beatles, Stones, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin etc and now know almost every Pearl Jam song there is. It's a pity I can't play the bootlegs in the car as Eddie has very colorful language. Now my oldest is listening to the words, I have to cough at a certain point in GTF....or I sing "well FELLAS, he still stands"...very loudly
The early PJ (1992) was when my husband and I met in college....now my kids are making memories to their music...love it

I turned 36 in Feb...and I had the same thought...how lucky was I to be in my late teens/early 20's as the music scene exploded with some great bands in the early 90's!
Couldn't agree more. I turn 36 in June. 20 years of Pearl Jam is crazy, but we were so lucky to have this NEW band in our late teens and being able to grow with them! They're like an old friend!0 -

There's other FELLAS out there that cough during PJ boots?! I knew you were for real, Katyz! My wife and I do the same thing...problem is my 11 & 9 year old sons ask "What did Eddie say while you were coughing?" Guess we're all officially old now!0 -

I agree, except my first Pearl Jam memory was purchasing Ten in a Longbox at Sam Goodie's when I was 12. I didn't even own a CD player. I had to mow lawns all summer just to get the CD boombox ($199), so I could play all of Ten on my own stereo in my own room. My parents wouldn't have approved of Porch. Now, 20 years later, I am 32, and my twin 3 year old boys point to my Salt Lake '09 Klausen poster in my living room and say "Pearl Jam." They also listen to the music, especially the videos of the Unplugged performance, but I don't think they have made the connection with the poster yet. To them, that poster IS Pearl Jam.Salt Lake City, Utah - Sept 28, 2009

Sometimes I wish I was even older than I am now (32), so I could of seen more pJ shows in the early early days. My first show was in 96 during the No Code tour....I almost had a ticket for the Boston Garden '94.....can you imagine?!?!?!I live my life like an Ocean in disguise0

I'm only 30 and I feel like I'm one of the younger persons at the concerts.[/quote
I am probably not the youngest, but I am definately younger than most people at the concerts. I just turned 24. I was 16 when I went to my first PJ concert, back in good'ole 2003!Noblesville 6/22/2003 St. Louis 5/4/2010 East Troy 9/4/2011

I just turned 50!! and have been in the fan club since the year it started. I tried to brainwash my kids, but it did not work. When my daughter went to college, both of her roommates turned out to be
obsessive PJ fans. I have gone to Bonnaroo with them, and listen and discuss Pj with them all the time!! It is hilarious, it drives her nuts, but I gained two great fellow fans to bond with about PJ. Just goes to show, when it comes to great music, it doesn't matter what age you are. 0 -
I guess I have those questions to come...better start thinking up some reply I swore I'd never use as it was too much like my grandma!!!Black73 wrote:Katyz wrote:On my 40th birthday (my avatar was taken then...last NOV.)
