For Leash, you can say he's saying, "Get out of my lucky face."

Got to remember that one ;)

OMG if you lot in your 30s are old then I must be ancient. You may all start calling me grandma..... Not saying how old I am but it's around about the same age as the guys themselves, or at least one of them. Speaking of the guys it's Jeff's birthday today, and also my daughter's 17th. Rapt she has the same date as his.

    hahaaa
    I AM grandma!
and there are a LOT of us on here, so beware
I was turned on to Pearl Jam by my then (barely) teenage son back in the early 90s
(and TOTD, SG, MLB, RHCP,Nirvana, etc.... but PJ is the one that stuck with me)
So..I was there from the beginning
    And I really AM old.hahaahaa
It's funny that I happened upon this thread
cuz I just posted this on my facebook a week or so ago"

""OK this is too cute...i'm singing "i know she gave me all that she....." and a little voice comes out saying, hey stop singing that song. so i said, but i love this song...and the little voice says..."but its MY special song" ~ EVAN, 2 yrs old ... that's my boy :)""

That little voice, 2 years old, many may have assumed would be my son....
let you in on a secret...grandson, the youngest one
i am proud to be grandma to 5 little boys
    all toddlers...they keep me young!

so YOU all don't need to feel so old now :D

HOWEVER, since the guys in the band are all also about the same age as I am,
I feel blessed to have grown along with them
(I just had kids a lot earlier that's all)

If you are at Tres Mts in Philly next week, or NYC/Philly shows this summer
and we happen to run into one another
you'll have the privilege of meeting the person who introduced me to Pearl Jam
my son and I travel to PJ together as much as we can
    Its a family affair

    so..what i'm saying is
you're only as old as you feel
    it's all good
    all good

    youngsters :lol::lol::lol:

After listening to PJ with my 20 year-old cousin last week, I took her to the train station so she could return to school. When she got to Chicago, the train attendant helped her with her bag, to which my cousin says, "I'm sorry, I went overboard shopping this week." Attendant says, "That's ok, you were visiting Dad."

As stated earlier, I'm 37. I don't think I look THAT much older than her!

    Ouch.

Good thing I wasn't with you, as I have 10 years on you. Train attendant would have said, "That's okay, you were visiting Dad and Grandma"

At which point I would have beaten him with my walker, then smooshed my Depends in his face.

    Don't mess with old ladies.

  • I may be stating the obvious here, but I find it pretty awesome that people of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy this band. I don't really see a lot of popular newer bands with that type of diversity in their fan base. What's even cooler is that almost everyone has their own special story as to how they came across Pearl Jam. I turn 20 in October so I don't remember a time without them in my life, and it's amazing to think of how many people were my age when Ten debuted. It's great, and one of the things I cherish most about this band. It's a refreshing thought.

That's exactly what it is...at least for me. My mom was a fan when I was too young to even talk...so I grew up with them. I was 6 at my first concert.
You go girl. Im passing down Pearl Jam to my kids. They fight but dont have any choice in the matter. Hanging in my 13 year old daughters room is Toronto 06 and Christ Church 09 poster. I think she loves PJ but gives me a hard time for fun :D

Speaking of feeling old / young. A few years ago I was at a 54 40 concert in Vancouver, looked around the room and discovered that I was probably the youngest person there and I was 31.

Only other place I saw such a diverse age group was at my firt Neil Young concert. I saw a mother nursing a newborn, and I saw a couple easily in their 60's dancing on the hill at Pine Knob (I refuse to call it whatever energy company in Michigan now "sponsors" the venue).

Good music transcends all ages. Long live rock!
