i think this would only make it worse for people ...

so ... your member number drops from 300000to 65001 ... you're still in the same relative spot ... but now you know there are exactly 65,000 plus people ahead of you ...

Isn't that better than thinking 299,999 people are ahead of you?

  • Think I am missing something here. How do we exactly find out where we are? My member number is 182xxx. How would I locate that in the paid members group?

I wouldn't exactly trust that as a gauge to know where you exactly are although it might be. But if you wanted to check you'd basically have to go through each page. I would start with page 100 with your number.

There really is no hope other than people dropping out. This way you would know day to day, month to month or year to year depending how often they would want to refresh it where you actually stand. honestly I wouldn't care if they put the total amount of people, just my actual spot.

    Kind of like this

  • It would be lovely to know where you stand re: future tix but it's not going to happen. Like Tim said it's a business thing... the other sides can't know what Pearl jam is up to. I don't need to know my exact position as the same number has found me in various spots at all my PJ shows.

Let us all buy one ticket each for the Anniversary Weekend seated according to seniority. All tickets are inexchangeable... full stop! Celebrate PearlJam20 with us of all together enjoying the music we have let seep into our skins for anything around 20 years now.

That would make sense if we couldn't just figure it out ourselves right here. Right now there are 80,640 paid members. If we want to go through thousands of pages to find our exact spot we can. So why not just provide it to us?

I don't think they will ever reassign numbers. What they should do is make your membership cost more every year to keep your seniority, and lower the cost for new members. Think of it like taxes. If you go to school, work hard, and earn a nice living, the government takes more from you. If you've been in the club for longer, you should be older and be able to bear more of a burden than newer members. If you just want to be in the club, buy a new cheap membership every year. If you want amazing seats, pay the increasing fee every year. I'd start at $10 a year, plus club fees, if not more. So if you've been in since the start, you would pay $240 just for this year. Or you could just buy a basic membership for $20 and be at the back of the arena, but at least you would be in the door.

If they were to offically announce the number of 10 club members, they would open the door to loads of new questions. Like if 80k members is accurate, why can't some of that $1.6 million be put aside for servers that can handle the load during ticket sales.

The way it is now it makes it seem like there are more than 80,000 members. So your point makes no sense.

The amount of shows per tour is more of a problem than the servers. Its no different with Ticketmaster.

It is very different with Ticketmaster. If there are no tickets available, you know within a matter of minutes, not hours. And considering the last round of tickets came equiped with a "10 Club Processing Fee" rivaling that of Ticketmaster's, you should expect a similar level of service.

I answered your original comment before your edit... but I guess if there's more than 80,000 members, there's more money to account for.
  • Ticketmaster makes more money in one day then the ten club makes all year. And can we keep this thread on topic. This topic is not about the ticket sales which is just fine.

Ok, back on topic. 10 Club should fix the current problems that exist (because tickets sales are not just fine) before implementing any additional changes.

Seniority only matters because of tickets. Take away seniorty seating, and no one will care about Reassigning/Adjusting 10 Club Member Numbers.

i still don't get how you're getting these adjusted numbers. what about members that joined before 1998?
did you see me? i saw you.

Member numbers were assigned to everyone in 1997. They didn't exist prior.

So your idea is to punish those of us who have been around for a while and have supported the band for many years?

    Makes no sense to me.

False. There were assigned member numbers since at least 96 when they toured the US. Where do you come up with these "facts"?

From the 10 club. They didn't use the seniority method in 96.
