  • I asked Santos if the paid members area I referred to in my original post is accurate and he said it isn't even close to being right.

I wonder why it is even there.

I just don’t understand why one person who joined the fanclub a few years earlier, and maybe sent in an extra $50 gets better seats than someone else who might have spent thousands more on concert tickets and merchandise over the years.

Because at least the 10c can PROVE that this person has been loyal to the band all these years. They've taken the responsibility to send in their dues every year, and they are rewarded for it. I'm sure the band is more than happy to have fans who spend thousands on tix and merchandise. But, somone who has been a part of their fanclub all these years deserves the loyalty and the great seats.

i'm late to this party, but that paid user thing is incorrect, as both my brother and my exgirlfriend are listed on there (i remember they joined the same day from my computer) and she only was in for a year, and my brother has been out for a few years, and they are both found under the paid user tab. maybe that's all time users?

i remember there was a rumor pit that listed the number of members by country, but not the US, and it was only like 5000 people or something.

I strongly believe that if you whinge about your membership number, you are a full-blown idiot and undeserving. Suck it up! I can't believe I have to join this debate! I have been a constent member for 15 years now, got a 153,XXX number, and have only been front-row once. I don't care. Better than the seats I'd buy from a ticket outlet, and I don't have to worry about them being sold-out.

If you have a 400,XXX number... whoulda joined earlier or not let your membership lapse... no one else's fault but yours. Stop sooking and clogging the forum with whining dribble. Seems as though everything the TenClub does or doesn;t do gets bashed by idiots on here... not happy, don't join... easy!

Just being in the club doesn't prove anything. Like I said, the low number person might have copied every album, saved the cash, and sent in $5 of it to join the club. 10C can look at ones order history and see how many 10C tickets they have bought. If you buy a pair of tickets to two shows, you most likely paid more than somone who has been in the 10C from the begining. Why not do a point system, where years in the club count as points, but so does buying stuff through 10C?
  • Ah yes....
    The precious 10club seats.....

I still wish they would make every 10club seat a lottery seat....
    Just randomly assign seats.....

God damned that would be fun....
    Take me piece by piece.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....

But I would rather cut my arm off than give my 10club seat to someone else....
Because if it wasnt for my 8th row seat....I couldnt keep up my imaginary relationship with Eddie Vedder....

Give those with high numbers a chance to get up close.
I would absolutely love for them to get such an opportunity.

Fun indeed. And a free for all.

    It would be beyond great.

The why bother attitude towards seats beyond the tenth row is just a ridiculously elitist attitude.

Because there are lots and Lots of people who Would give their right arm to be in the building.

We can't all be in the first row. Accept it. Move on.
Dance your ass off and have fun, and stop obsessing over where you are.
You are there. Will that ever be enough?

It is 'percieved' problem that isn't a problem at all, or at least from my perspective.
    Nice shirt.

Who could forget this memorable line???? hehehehe
"Watch out for SPEEDY...He is a user"......(said by a complete stranger to one of my best friends on the planet)

    Perceived Hierarchy my ass..........

Whereas in truth, the statement actually said more about the person who said it.
    A whole lot more.

If I had known then what I know now.

Seat schmeat. My crappy 10C number gets me a ticket.
And that's all I really care about.

This thread has completely derailed from the main point.

Reassigning/adjusting 10 Club member numbers is a stupid and pointless idea. It's a non-value added activity with a horrible ROI, and it will never happen. Is that back on track enough for you?

"Completely derailed" would be if the thread was suddenly discussing something completely unrelated, such "The Philadelphia Eagles have never won a super bowl". The only reason anyone would want to do what you propose is so they know where they stand seniority wise for concert tickets. So I don't see why any of the discussion on tihs thread is so "off topic", and why you keep ignoring this point.

You should change the title to be more in line with what we want to discuss, so that we are all talking about the "main point". Instead of trying to steer the conversation back to a point that no one cares about.

Not every 10C member uses their membership to buy tickets to every show. I've attended a few shows using spares from other members. And what if I buy all of my merch in person at the shows, and not thru the website?
But really man.....WHY DOES ANYONE HAVE TO PROVE ANYTHING TO YOU? I personally don't give a fuck if you get worse seats than me, nor whether you're a bigger or more loyal fan than me....if you could buy your way past me, whether thru a tiered due system or othewise, the 10C would be no different than the upcharging ticket companies, or bands that gouge their fans for 'platinum' memberships and the like...purchasing power does not equate to loyalty...whether it's used on tickets, memberships, CD's, or merch..! What a sad view of the world...

If 10C was a liberal entitlement program, the most senior members would get the worst seats, no Christmas single, and pay far more than everyone else. It’s hilarious to watch everyone support the bands left wing politics, but not want to apply it to their 10c seniority!.
    Really?
Let's review what you've done in this thread.
    - Suggested a reward/points program for the 10C
    - Suggested that paying more money for your membership should get you better seats than those who pay less
    - Referenced ROI, value-added products, and the political spectrum as they apply to a fanclub ( )
    - Challenged the loyalty of people who have been following the band for nearly 20 years
    - Got kinda douchey with the OP.

And you are going to judge who should sit where, and how the 10C should move forward with their business model? The points above make it clear to me that it is YOU who doesn't understand what this community is all about.....the 10C has been doing a good job (sometimes great) of taking care of us all for a long time...but hey, you know better...

On topic - I think this would be a cool idea, for curiosity's sake, if nothing else.

    1) Honestly, I don't care what you think. I never said it would happen.

    2) Exactly.

    3) The thread title is exactly the title it should be.

Not sure why so many people beat this topic to death. There is no reason for anyone to compare their level of fandom against others. The 10C makes seating assignments based on seniority, with the exception being the lottery for rows 1-2 & 9-10. This is a equitable compromise that helps out the people who entered the game later. The debates here resemble the wealth-shifting debates between the dems and reps!

Some "loyal" fans who joined late don't get rewarded as they think they should, and some casual/apathetic fans who have kept their memberships in perpetuity get rewarded handsomely, even if they only care about PJ when shows are happening.

    I couldn't agree more.

This was an interesting idea (and an interesting thread) though.
