Thanx
I'm gonna check it out.
Actually, it's going faster than I thought it would thanks to (very) bad SQ on a lot of versions.
Checkout the East Rutherford, New Jersey (June 3, 2006) version too.
2006 ?! That's still a loooong way to go ! I'm not quite there yet.0 -
Great new project! cameron4president you are lighting it up; its been fun watching the progress of all your work and most enjoyable listening as well!
My favorite Naked Eye is the 2/94 Carnegie Hall performance Ed solo, perfect sound.
Also check out the My generation from Minneapolis 98. Bluesy version that serves as a intro to Porch.
Might be to slow, to short, and the quality is lacking . . .

I 'reckon' that we are fast because we are all well restedTruth be known, I have always wanted to do a good Who compilation, but I can't do a good one by myself. So now that we have so many willing participants, we are going to make an amazing Who compilation. I am energized (and bored out of my mind at work right now

There's a pretty cool recording of Ed performing Squeeze Box. Don't know where it's from, but it's featured on the "Walks On His Own" compilation0

Sooooo. I finally narrowed the choices from xxx to 6 to 3 and possibly 2 (by ruling out the ones where you could distinctively hear the organ - I know it's harsh, but it doesn't really 'fit' in the song IMO). One of them is Columbia. Since you were in attendance, maybe we should just go for that one ?0 -

Cool ! I have no idea what it sounds like as a playlist yet. Guess I'll have to wait for the rough draft...
Well, my playlist was quite patchy! I didn't do so well on the downloading - I managed to find about 8 from the current list on page one, and 2 or 3 of them the sound quality was shocking. I went on pearljambootlegs.org but some of these shows seemed to be missing. But it *was* late at night!
All the songs from the list with decent sound quality sounded superb though - I'll have another listen to them now. myra, how do you go about getting your songs so quickly, or do you already have them all? I'll tell you in a bit the songs on mine where the quality is shocking, and maybe you can point me at some better versions or sourcesCancel my subscription to the Ressurection

How should we order the playlist? I was thinking of two ways that we could do this:
1. Arrange them by the year that The Who actually recorded them.
2. Lesser SQ tracks to Greater SQ tracks.

Good question. I think imposing some sort of structure to the order might help, cos then it spares us too many dilemmas!I always prefer to kick off listening to an album on a 'high', so I wouldn't want all the weaker SQ tracks to come in at the beginning. Probably best mixed around I think.
Chronologically might make sense and be interesting (and educational!!)
I can think of two chronologies - either the order the Who recorded them, like you say. Or the order that Pearl Jam played them. Maybe the first one would make most sense.Cancel my subscription to the Ressurection

I agree, I think we should do it in the order that The Who recorded them. I will update the front page track list to reflect our new order in the next hour or two.I am the artist formally known as "Cameron4President"....
